Great, I'm going to wait a couple of days and let some more people vote and then I'll wrap up the tally and narrow it down some. I'm so glad that I'm getting good response. I think we should wait a little while to start to let some of the other swaps wrap up.
1-Who wants to do it if we wait?
2-Who wants to go ahead, cause your not working on any swaps right now?
3-Who is going to coach me through this if I volunteer to host? :rotfl:

This is a great idea. I've never done an ABC swap so I just have a question: Does everyone make a Title/Topper and pick another element, or do we do it like the other swaps where you pick your theme and two set items (tags, borders, etc.)?

Thanks,
Lisa

Hi -- It doesn't matter if we do it now or wait (I am also going to be doing the Ride Swap) Thanks Michelle

I'd like to join also but if we could do it after June that would be great. We have a family reunion and I'm in charge of putting together a cookbook for 50 people so that is going to consume me until June 11th.

D: Daisy, Dale, Disney, Doc, Donald Duck, Dopey, Dumbo, Dwarfs, Dream Come True, Donald's Boat, Downtown Disney

E: eating, Eeyore extraordinary, Enchanted Tiki Room,

F: Fairy Godmother, Fantasyland, fireworks, Frontierland, fun

G: Goofy, Grand Prix Raceway, Grumpy, Genie, Gift Shops, Good Times, Grin, Geppetto

H: Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion, hilarious, hugs, Hi Ho, Hi Ho

Z: Zzzzz...., zippity doo da Zurg, ZOOM ZOOM (as in going fast to meet ride times and see everything :earboy2: )

I added two - one in the D's and one in the Z's.

1-Well, I was thinking each person will do 26 of the letter/theme they choose. (We could also add a 27th to do the Title Page items) I was thinking it would be great if each person was completly in charge of that page. I mean Title/topper & border, tags, squares, triangles, journal box, or some other embellishment. I mean enough to do one whole page minus the pictures and mats and the page itself.
2-You would put each set in an individual ziplock bag mark the bag with your letter.
3-Put all 26/27 of them into a cardboard priority mail envelope with a label to the host on the outside. (I say to put all bags in and not keep one for yourself because this will make it easier for the hostess to distribute them. e.g. This person gets all but letter A, This person gets all but letter B. They can just divide them and put them back in the envelopes.) (I hear the cardboard ones hold up the best and if it's new, we should be able to reuse it for the return trip.)
4-Also include in the package a self addressed label to cover the old one.
5-Take the package to the post office or wherever you mail from, weight it and get postage for your package and buy (and include) another postage strip of the same amount most likely this amount will be able to cover the return postage.

I'm not sure anyone knows for sure since it hasn't officially started yet. Probably mid June but I could be way late on that. Disneyland_Emily would probably know if you want to PM her.

Cheers!

Ride Swap will end late June early July-

A few issues that I see with this swap: 1) Summer is a rough season for most people with vacations, kids etc (okay so just LIFE in general) so I think layin on the swaps heavy may result in many people signing up then ditchin the swap (It usually is a pretty good group though) but with 3/4 swaps already on the books- I don't know if many more can sucessfully be done without having extreme burnout or having manjor issues.

2) 28 is a pretty big swap esp if people are making more than 1-2 elements. I know that for me the idea of having to do 3-4 elements per person x 28 is not something that would be feasiable. Its too overwhelming esp for a first (or in my case 7ish) swap

3) Also with the multiple elements you run into the problem of size. Say I do 2 elements for E because I do 8.5 x 11 and I dont like crowded books but say someone else scraps 12 x 12 and loves crowded books and does 5 elements... You come into a huge issue of equalness, ability and to some extent money. Doing 4-5 elements usually costs more than doing 1-2 (not to count that itd cost more to ship things both ways)
and personally the idea of getting that much stuff is almost a turn off between even the Character/Ride Swaps + the already scheduled Park Swaps- Is there really that much that we havent covered or will cover? I know even with doing Disney 3-4 times a year- I do not have that many pictures...

**I do love the idea of the A-Z Swap but I seriously think that it needs to be kept as a smaller swap (26 people is great) but limit it to 1-2 elements- Or decide to do something a bit different like doing it a A-Z Tag swap where everyone just does 1-2 Tags for their letters so it can be more versitle for those who want to participate but may not have that many pictures or scrap in an unusual size (I was thinkin 8 x 8 would be fun for this idea)

and on sending:
4) As a host I can tell ya that having 1 for everyone is ALOT easier than trying to remember who gets/doesnt get it because even though I havent really started swappin out the Character Swap- That is ONE HUGE pile of stuff...

This is just my opinion- take it for what you will :) -em

I really do like the idea of an ABCs of Disney swap. However, it is too overwhelming for me to think about doing all of the elements for a letter for 26 people.

I was thinking a title and a couple of embellished squares or tags for each page would be nice. That way you could use the stuff for the swap in any size book and would be able to include your own stuff as well. I really like Disneyland_Emily's idea of a tag swap because I don't have tons of pictures but would love, love, love to have a bunch of super cute tags that I could include on other pages!
