I teach at a school in which most of the kids are poor. We're talking 97% get free or reduced lunch. Many may not have much of a Christmas present-wise.
My school was 'adopted' by another school in the county, one that much better off economic-wise. Back in October, we gave them our kids names and one thing they wanted for Christmas. Well, we got the gifts today, and those people went all out!
The kids were so surprised and happy! Every kid had a gift, their faces were priceless. And we didn't tell them about it beforehand...total surprise!
So, I'd like to say, if you have given to Toys for Tots, or any organization that gives to disadvantaged kids, thank you. It makes such a huge difference to these kids.
