We leave in 12 days :cool1: We've been knocking on wood, throwing salt over our shoulders, collecting four leaf clovers, you name it. Well, last Saturday my DD28 got in to her vehicle (Durango so you have to step up). She hit her head but thought nothing about it. Saturday night she went out with the girls :drinking1 . Sunday morning she started feeling bad but knew she did not drink that much. :confused3 As the day continued she realized something was not right. She was too sick for just a hangover. Her headache was severe and was throwing up about every hour. About 3 in the afternoon she remembered she had hit her head. Headed to the ER and ,sure enough, a concussion. Cat scan showed no bleeding or fracture. Thank you Lord. We have read the info sent home from the hospital and right now she has no appetite. Anyone gone through a concussion with a family member? What short term problems did you have? We are also flying. Will that bother her? She got meds for the headache and motion sickness. :(

Oh My! So sorry that happened. Well, we have lots of experience with concusions here. Two sons have had them, one climbing and one trying to fly, and I have had one as an adult, roller skating

I think in 12 days she should be ok to fly. The boys were ok in a few days. I had a headache for a long time, maybe 5 weeks. Dr. said it is normal. I just took a lot of Advil during that time. I'd definitely ask Dr. for something for pain, you don't want her to be miserable at WDW.

Good luck and have a great trip!

I had a slight concussion in college (you know those sumo wrestling outfits? my helmet didn't stay on when I fell down once. Ouch.) and the effects were gone within a day. Like I said, though, it was slight.

Hope your DD is feeling better soon!

I got one Easter Sunday several years ago, walking out of the door.. My purse handle caught on the door knob, pulled me around I slipped and woke up with clear liquid coming out of my nose.. .
ER said, yep, you hit your head good. Well dud!
I was not all together for at least 2 months... and not "normal" for a lot longer. I checked with my doctor and he did not want me to go on fast rides... so check before you go! Mine was pretty bad. The kids still tease me that I never recovered...
It sounds like she will be fine, but still check about rides. At least it won't be so blasted hot!
Best of luck, I hope she is feeling a lot better soon. And if she can't do all the rides there are still a lot of stuff to do. And the new Irish Pub at PI should be open, would she like that? Or maybe going to something else she has never had the time to do.
Sending good thoughts....

Don't have her go in Primeval Whirl, or any other "violent" ride. Especially not that one.

Oh man. Thanks for the advice. Any other rides she might want to reconsider. I guess MS is definitely out! We did not get to ride very many thrill rides last year when we were there so some of them we don't know how they are. Better safe than sorry.
