The holidays begin here! Beginning November 10, some of your returning favorites will feature a bit more magic during Holidays at the Disneyland Resort.

At Disney California Adventure park, Festival of Holidays will bring a new take on delicious holiday comfort food. All-new cultural favorites are coming to the Festive Foods Marketplaces, including Beef Corn Tamale a la Plancha with Spicy Rojo Sauce, Braised Lamb Cheeks with Mediterranean Cauliflower, Sweet Potato Pie and Fruit and Nut Rugelach.

In Cars Land, Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters will transform into Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl, and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will become Mater’s Jingle Jamboree, both featuring new holiday tunes for the season.

All of this is, of course, is in addition to the return of Disney ¡Viva Navidad! and “World of Color – Season of Light” at Disney California Adventure park. At Disneyland park, Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, “Believe…in Holiday Magic” fireworks, “A Christmas Fantasy” parade, “it’s a small world” Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday will delight guests throughout the season.

What are you looking forward to experiencing first during Holidays at the Disneyland Resort? Tell us in the comments!

I need to read the comments. I wonder if others are as unhappy as I am not to have any sort of night parade.

I will also miss a nighttime parade and the Jingle Cruise, but I won't miss the parade crowd control issues. I loved World of Color - Season of Light last year and can't wait to see it again. I hope the foam heart things are back because those were my daughter's favorite part. I actually loved all of the new holiday additions over at DCA last year and am excited to see them coming back.

I also hope that the garlands will come back across Main Street since the holiday parade doesn't interfere with them...

Christmas at Disneyland is my favorite time of year... too bad it's everyone else's, too. I'm bracing myself for the crowds already!

I personally think that more entertainment instead of less is the answer to crowd control issues.

This view represents the magic of Christmas at Disney to me. For them to cheap out and just pass on offering it is so disappointing.

NO JINGLE CRUISE!!! I was soooo looking forward to this as I have never been at Christmas and the Jungle Cruise is always a guilty pleasure for me! Very sad!!!

I think it's just part of their campaign to try and make DL less appealing in anticipation of Star Wars crowds. They want to coax people into DCA for their holiday offerings.

Reason 3458 why Star Wars Land in DL was a bad idea.

I'm confused. Where is it stated that they won't run the Christmas parade in the evening? I love the Paint the Night parade but am more than fine with Disney not trying to run 4 parades a day during the busy holiday season. The crowd control issues were frustrating. On what were expected to be the peak times of the holiday season they used to run the Christmas parade once in the afternoon and once in the evening just after it's starting to get dark, 6 or 6:30 PM I think. Last year because of Paint the Night, they didn't run the Christmas parade after dark which was a bit disappointing to me since I think that parade looks better and feels more special when lit up and running at night. I'm hoping that without Paint the Night in the mix this holiday season, they will go back to one afternoon Christmas parade and one evening time one. With Fantasmic back this year and the nightly fireworks show, that's enough evening entertainment and crowd control in DL for me.

They are well into December with their calendar and no evening parade (Christmas parade or PTN). Not even during the high crowds of Thanksgiving week.

As of right now Christmas Fantasy is scheduled to run daily at 1pm and 3:30pm.

Ah, I hadn't looked at the calendar yet. I thought something was referenced in the article. Guess maybe I should go look at the calendar and see what's up and what's not. lol

ETA: OK went to look. While I will be disappointed that the parade will not run at night, I admit that I will not miss the insanity of the crowds when just trying to get back into the park on all the nights I wouldn't have planned on watching the parade. I will have to decide if I will bother at all this year. While I love tradition, I do feel the Christmas parade is due for a significant update.

Some days it's only running once.

That I believe is not unusual. They used to run the Christmas parade twice a day for Veteran's Day, weekends, Thanksgiving week, and the two weeks of Christmas and New Year's (the dates that are now blocked out for most annual passholders). It would often run only once a day the rest of the season.

I understand that. But a PP said it was running twice daily, and I just wanted to be sure some didn't think that was the case every day.

So far, the only comments are about the lack of the Jingle Cruise and someone asking for more information. My guess is that the complete absence of something (Jingle Cruise) jumps out at readers more quickly than something they would have to go look up to know (the posting says the Christmas Parade will be back, just not the show times so at first read, there is no way to know when the parade is being presented).

For me, I agree that the Xmas Parade looks better in the dark when the floats are light up, but at least they're still presenting it. I'm sadder to read that Jingle Cruise won't be returning.

I'm sad about Jingle Cruise, but looking forward to seeing some additions over at Carsland so that's sort of a wash for me.

The Halloween overlays looked cute, so hopefully they'll do a good job for the holiday ones as well. I'm sure they'll be popular! (For me, they're not quite a wash because I can't ride Luigi's or Mater's without getting a queasy stomach, but I can/could ride Jingle Cruise! Oh well, it'll be fun to watch & listen to the new soundtracks.)

It looks like it’s running once a day on these dates 11/13-11/15 and 11/27-11/30. As of now all other days are showing the twice a day parade. On the days with one showing it’s at 3:30.

Let's hope that's a forecast of low crowds for those dates since we'll be there on a couple of them.

My guess is no Jingle cruise because that seems like a more entensive overlay and it didn't need a maintaince break to justify the down time. I think they had too many refurbs on the book after the holidays with other holiday overlays, annual water ride stuff, two parades to get ready, massive rehab of Paradise Pier, Stars Wars, and Pirates major "refurb" needing to happen.
I bet they felt they couldn't afford to be fishing fruit cake out of the water for three weeks.
