I am looking to book a quick get away for 1/18-1-21. There are no value resorts and barely any moderate resorts available. Didn’t think it would be that busy that weekend. Is there anything fo No on?

None of these are mega draws, but the Epcot Int’l Festival starts 1/12 and the first Disney After Hours event is Friday night, 1/19 at MK.

You’re probably seeing more of the impact of so many mod rooms being out of inventory than anything else, if I had to guess.

As you can see, Disney is very good at filling their rooms even during ‘slow’ times.

Hope you can find something that works for you.

I don't know but I will be down there then... On 1/20 MK has 8am-midnight hours, so there is a good chance it's going to be quite crowded (for what reason, I don't know). At least recently, Disney doesn't set those kind of hours without crowds to back them up.

Possibly rooms booked for that week with MLK day being Monday prior, some people utilize the week with a day off school, and may not be checking out till Sat or Sun. I don't know if you tried booking one day at a time, sometimes there is availability one day at a time vs a block of days - not sure why, but something with the system. If so, you can call and they may be able to link them. Or can't get same room category for all the nights, but might get preferred for one night, then standard for others, etc. Might be able to find rooms that way - way too complicated, I realize, but just throwing out things I found when trying for rooms this fall.

The week of the 21st there's also pro bowl activities going on and celebs/fans coming into town. So maybe those staying for a week or so are arriving that same weekend.

And the fact that you're booking for a trip that's so soon. Usually this close out majority of rooms are booked

It's only a couple of weeks away. That's why you're having a hard time.

It’s because your trip is so soon. This close to your trip there usually isn’t much availability. Disney resorts are almost always very full as travel dates get closer, park crowd fluctuations are very dependent on local and off site visitors.

Disney resorts can be full at the same time that park crowds are lighter.

Try extending your stay. It's starting to happen more and more that they'll say they're not available for shorter trips, but if you extend than it shows availability. It just happened to me last week.
