WH-what do I need to know b$ I book?

Okay, I've picked one, emailed owner, got rates we can live w/ and all details. What do I absolutely need to know before I book? I've googled the owners and searched DISboards and haven't found anything negative. How do I check the county tax records? These people take CC payment which would give us a lot more protection than PayPal or Money Order, IMO.

What else???? I'm a vacation home newbie. We've only done hotels but I'm excited about WH.

This the tax appraiser site, just got to the left column and click record search, enter last name first.
