I'm looking for a house or condo for our trip in June. I've been looking at Windsor Hill because of how close it is to the parks. When it comes to WH do you prefer a house with a private pool or condo by the main pool? Do you have enough time to really use the resort amenities? We'll be there 6 days with 5 days in the park. Any one have any good recommendations on a WH unity with Disney theming for around $100 anight?

We have booked a 6 bedroom house at WH for 2015. We used homeaway.com to look at all the different properties there. A lot of them are Disney decorated and the prices vary depending on size.

We like our own pool. My kids love to go for a swim before or after we go to the parks. I think it is so much easier than using the resort pool. When we stayed on a condo, I would have to walk them down there, and it would take a lot of time. If they are just using our own pool, then I can be watching them out the door while making breakfast or doing laundry. Sometimes just sitting in my pajamas drinking coffee. I love that I don't have to ever say no to them if they want to take a quick swim. Even if we only have 10 minutes, I still let them swim.

We still use the main pool usually once per trip.

I've never stayed at a place like WH, where each unit is privately owned. Is it the same as booking a hotel room? Anything about staying here I should know about? It looks beautiful and the prices are great

This is my favorite place to stay, and will be arriving there on September 26th. It is a little different than booking a hotel room in that you are renting from an individual versus a company, so there is a little more risk. Make sure you don't go into it blindly. Some owners go through property management companies, so do some research on their company. Also, read reviews from other renters. Most sites like VRBO.com have them. Check their rental calendar. Is it full, or completely empty? That can possibly be a bad sign if it is wide open. When you narrow it down to a few choices, ask on this board if anyone here has rented from them before. You could also ask for specific recommendations here too. Different owners will have different policies in regard to making a deposit, etc., as well as payment options and pricing structure (as far as what is included versus charged separately). It's really easier than it sounds.

It's a wonderful place to stay. I've always had great experiences. I never want to go back to being cramped in a hotel room again. :lovestruc

Hi

We've stayed there in a condo for the last 5 trips, we stay for 14 days and do Disney. Our children are now 10 and 12 and we are due there late October again. We like the condo idea as we use it to sleep and that's about all. There is a community pool and the condo are quite close however when you are picking a condo to stay check out the map to see just how close. We might go to the pool a couple of times during our trip but to be frank we're gone early and back late, so we almost have to plan it! I agree the idea of a pool and a quick swim sounds nice, but it can take an age to get them out of a boring condo, so having extra distractions slowing us down doesn't appeal.

Depends what you want but WH's is great we stay here windsorhillsorlandocondoneardisney.com

Regards

Paul

We have done both. With the townhouse you have parking right at the door but you will pay more for that luxury. The splash pools are very small. With the condo the price is usually much lower and a short walk to the public pool. Both types of accommodations have full kitchens and washer and dryer. I like the condo better because the layout was all on the same floor, no stairs up to the bedroom. I always book with doing a search on windsorhillsrent. Everyone on that site is an owner. I always ask for the total price including pool heat, taxes and all other fees the owner may charge.

Agree 100%. Having your own pool and lots of space is a vacation in itself. I love WH but wouldn't hesitate to check the other neighborhoods within a mile or so. Depending on when you are traveling, there may be quite a price difference between neighborhoods.
