Morning Guys,

I've bitten the bullet and booked our flights with VA this morning. PE both ways, used some miles and so for the 2 adults and 2 kids it was just over £4k. I am sure we could have saved a few pennies if we hade gone indirect or waited for a sale but I just wanted to secure our dates with the villa etc and no matter how hard I tried to consider indirect, I just couldn't get my head around it, so now I am officially EXCITED :cool1:

We go on Aug 6th and return on Aug 31st :cool1: This will be our first trip in August, only done cooler months previously so I am hoping we wil manage in the heat. Not planning on doing an awful lot of park visits and so nearer the time I will be looking for advice on 'other things to do' :thumbsup2

I have managed to pick our seats for the return flight (VS074) but not the outward flight, anyone have any idea when I will be able to? I realise that this is just a request and not guaranteed.... Is it to do with the new planes?

One last question, I have picked seats 79 H & K and 80 H & K for the inbound flight, are these ok? I am presuming they are in the bubble? Do I need to keep checking that these are still 'our' seats and also then do olci?

Sorry for all the questions!

I'm off to do a few virtual cartwheels :lmao: (couldn't do them when I was a nipper never mind now :lmao:)

We are also still considering a trip in either Feb or Apr 2011 but something is holding me back from booking :confused3

Bye for now - Yippeeeeeee.....:banana:

Hi Ali

I'm rushing at the moment but just wanted to congratulate you. It always feels good to have a ticker in your signature. ;)

Those seats are in the bubble. I can't remember what we had last time but I think you are about half way down. Can you log into your booking with VA yet? You can click on Where are My Seats and see where you are. Mine were changed today when I went online, but they are better than the outbound ones I selected so I am happy.

:yay:

Those seats are in the bubble however you might want to move further forward if you want a choice of meals they had run out last time we sat there.

The other flight I am assuming is the 75 which will be on one of the new planes and the latest estimated date for seat bookings is November.

Well done on booking :goodvibes

those seats are brill, at the back no one behind you!!!
sat in those a few times, never had any probs not getting the choice of food we wanted.
well done on booking and happy planning :goodvibes

Hi and thanks for your replies :goodvibes

It does feel great to have something booked :cool1:

After thinking I wasn't that bothered which seats we get I've found some old threads on here that might suggest that we would be better off on the other side of the plane ie 79 A & C and that the seats in row 80 might not fully recline?? also as a family of 4, would we be better across the aisle from each other or two behind the other two??

Any advice would be gratefully received :thumbsup2

Thanks,

Ali :goodvibes

We prefer across rather than behind - we are a family of 3.

Also next to 79C there is an extra little table that is very handy. These are our favourite seats

Thanks Netty, I must have been typing at the same time as you!!!!

I've since found more info that says these seats do fully recline :thumbsup2 so I think we'll stick with them if we can.....

Not overly bothered about the food issue, can't say I'm a great fan of airline food, we normally grab something to eat before boarding just to be on the safe side :thumbsup2

Thanks again :woohoo:
