Hurray after lots of chat & surfing the web & phone-calls finally pinned down DH & booked our flights today!!!!!!
Booked with TravelCity Direct as they were the cheapest for direct flights & DH didn't want to change planes.

We're going 14th August for 2 weeks, would have loved 3 weeks but have been doing major work on the house & funds wouldn' t run to 3.

had to book August as I work in a school & MUST hav e school hols. Eldest DS is doing exams may/June so couldn't go then.

Will it be very hot in August???????

How will crowds be???????

These are the first of many questions

You hav e been warned!!!!!!

Just have to work out how to get a countdown timer, don't hold your breath may take weeks!!

I have been during the last two weeks of August twice. Both times the weather was very hot, but bearable if we did air conditioned attractions in the afternoon.

The crowds were fairly light except at IOA where there were long queues and Busch Gardens which was nearly deserted.

The down side to lighter crowds were shorter hours during the last week of August, but we always found plenty to do - Epcot was open until 9pm, swimming at the hotel, DTD shopping.

Have fun!

Too hot for us in August, well it was last year hence we are going next month instead.

The humidity seems to be quite high it is not just the temperature, I guess everybody is different really , it is difficult for us because we have an Autistic son and pushing a stroller around can be hard work.
Summer Holidays can affect your plans , 6 weeks for the kids to be off school is a lot of time to fill hence our August trip in 2002.

Also, although we didn't visit any Disney parks we had a 14 day Flexticket for Universal etc and must say we found the parks pretty busy.
Orlando itself seemed pretty crowded, I think it all gets a bit quieter early September onwards.

I don't disagree with the previous post but despite the air-conditioned attractions, walking miles around a theme park in humid weather is not always easy - certainly with children it isn't!

If you can take the weather then late August id good as the American schools generally go back then so the crowds can be smaller.Aslong as you wear plenty of sunscreen and keep drinking you will be ok

We've also booked with Travel City but 3 days later, from Manchester on 17th August. We've been with TCD before and found them to be excellent and also the cheapest.

We are spending the 1st week at Disney's Caribbean Beach and the 2nd week on a Carnival cruise visiting Mexico,Grand Cayman & Belize. Never tried cruising before so hoping it will be great.

Where are you staying in Orlando? Did you buy hopper passes from TCD?

We're going on the 15th with TCD.

Just bought all my remaining tickets this morning...I'm just a little excited now:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

we're planning to stay in a villa but haven't booked yet.

so glad to hear you found travel city excellent. they quoted £189 for 10 day tickets & that sounds like a good price to me so will prob. buy from them.

£189 sounds like an excellent price for 10 day ticket. We've booked the 5 day hoppers so we can use half this year in the first Orlando week and the second half hopefully next year.

18 weeks and counting to a fabulous time!!:Pinkbounc
