WestJet's updated website

Only to now find out our flight has been delayed an hour (we won't get to Disney until after 8 pm on Saturday night..sigh).

The only plus side is we are still able to fly from Hammytown instead of Toronto (big plus for cost!)....down side, getting to Disney so late...oh well, there are always pluses and minuses

Is there a way to add everything in a profile (ie passport?) to speed up the check in?

One month today, we will be flying to Florida...yahoo@
 me celebrating my bday at Disney
:scared1: DH not thrilled to be there...lol.

I am looking at my families confirmation online right now and I don't see a thing for entering our Passport information, so I guess we will need to enter our information when checking in online.

The funny thing is before they made these changes when we had our old profile with them adding our Passport information was something we planned to do before we left, since we didn't see the rush to do it right away.

I know! That's what we were looking for.... the spot to enter our passport info to save time. Hope we can do it when we check in online.

I have to call this afternoon to check on something.... will let you know if they tell me how to update online.

Yes, when you check in online, thats where they ask your passport info. We did not need to re-enter it for the return flight.

I just noticed where you would make a brand new reservation they no longer give you an option for making a multi city reservation. For example before their website was updated when my family and I made our reservations for next month, we were able to select flying from Toronto - Orlando and flying back from Tampa - Toronto. Now I am sure we could still make that same reservation by calling them directly, however it's weird they would take away that option.

Yeah that sucks.. that's how Imade my flight, out of Toronto and back into Hamilton

I still have not gotten through.

I called...and it was too long of a wait to speak with them.

We are leaving on Wednesday, and when I check in online tomorrow I will enter the rest of our passport info.

I got back late last week from my trip to Disney which was my first using WestJet. My pre-flight problems were well documented in this thread and totaled up to between 3 and 4 hours on the phone with the WestJet help desk.

So here's what happened with the flights:
Nov 10 - minor mechanical problem meant a 10 minute delay boarding the plane... which meant that we got pushed into the 30 minute security hold around YOW while Charles and Camilla boarded their plane to YUL. We were in the end 45 minutes late departing. Nothing I can fault WestJet for on this one.

Nov 12 - return flight. I was told by the WestJet call centre that I would be able to do a web check-in for the MCO departure and then pick up my boarding passes at a kiosk at MCO (they put me on hold to check if there were kiosks at MCO). Turns out both pieces of information were incorrect. I was unable to do a web checking and there are no kiosks for WestJet at MCO. So I had an unexpected long line to check in.

The flight was scheduled to leave on time but ended up leaving 15 minutes late. The only thing I could see that caused us to be late was all of the clowning around the staff was doing. I appreciate that that try to make flying "fun" and try to have a light-hearted manner, but they seem to be more preoccupied with clowning around than with getting their jobs done. The gate staff was non-stop joking around with each other and pulling hyjinks, to the detriment of actually focusing on getting people checked in and onto the plane. On top of that the safety announcements were almost indecipherable because of all of the clowning around they were doing during them.

We got to YYZ 30 minutes late which left me with 40 minutes to get through security and re-clear security and get to my connecting flight. Sadly the WestJet staff were unable to give me any information about my connecting gate and the status of my connecting flight, something I get from every other airline I've ever flown with.

I made my connecting flight on time but it ended up leaving 15 minutes late because they decided to wait for someone who was coming from my same inbound flight from MCO and didn't run through the terminal like I had. All that effort for naught. Sigh.

In the end, I made it home safely and close to on-time.

Not sure if I'll fly WestJet again. A lot of bad experiences that seemed to compound.

Do you mean you have not got trough to speak with someone about getting a new confirmation number or about entering pre-entering the Passport information? The reason I say that because your old confirmation number won't work when checking in online, since you need a new one. However if you are able to check-in online you will then be asked to enter the Passport information.

I called a few weeks ago and got my new res number.

I went to check in online this morning, and it wouldn't allow me to check in for the flight from Toronto to Orlando. It checked in fine for the St. John's to Toronto part.

The old time is still showing up on my check in for the TO to Orl flight.

Then I went on again to see if i could try to check in again, and it now has us placed in different rows for sitting! I paid for seats for both flights.

I am very upset now, and have been on the phone with them for the past hour ..... on hold.

I am still messing around with Westjet .... not what I wanted to be doing the day before we leave.

My first phone call about our messed up seats ended with everything looking fine and I thought the rep had everything fixed.

When i went back to reprint our new boarding passes with our correct seats I found that now on both flights we are sitting in different rows.

I am on hold again....

Different from what you expected (but together) or different from each other (i.e not together)?

Hope it works out.

What an annoying way to have to spend the day

On our first flight I am in row 6, hubby in row 7 (we were supposed to be in 5th)

Second flight I am in 11 and he is in 12. (we were supposed to be in 6th).

She told me theres a glitch in my reservation..... oh great!

I am a TA and I also just sat on hold for one hour plus to cancel a bkg!!
They told me they are getting a hold on the new system but have huge staff shortages with folks out with the flu...

Good thing tho--right now--they aren't charging any penalties to cancel flts in appreciation that people are having big wait times! Nice..

I still don't have all of mine worked out. They are going to call me back this time though..... I am not in the mood to wait another hour on hold.

I don't care as long as we take off tomorrow morning!

For those that called for their new confirmation numbers did anyone else think why couldn't just e-mail them to us without waiting on hold for an hour? The WestJet agent asked if we wanted the confirmation e-mailed to us and I said yes, which means they still had our e-mail on file when the reservation was originally made. So if they had all that stuff on file you mean to tell me they couldn't have e-mailed it the whole time?

That's true!! The agent I spoke with today had my email still on file.

They should have just emailed the new numbers out.

After 3 phone calls today I finally got our seats fixed up....and we are now back in our correct seats.

12 hours..... :)
