Oh good because their website says they cannot guarantee your flight will have tv....does that mean some flight's don't or is that old news that has not been updated?
The -600 series airplanes do not have TV's. All -700 and -800 series planes do have TV.
Unfortunately there is no way of telling which plane will be on a certain route, as they substitute occasionally.
They are in the process of getting approvals to put TV's in the -600 series airplanes, and possibly by next summer (just a guess) they may be equipped.
I have to agree with Blizzard, not all WestJet flights have TV's.
We flew from Calgary to Winnipeg and no TV's - then we changed planes and flew from Winnipeg to London and we had TV's but they did not work for 1/2 of the flight.
So, I would not count on the TV's for your entertainment for the flight.
Inlaws just flew on Frontier and they got 2 channels for free and had to pay for more. I understand Westjet has about 20 free channels but you pay for headphones. would my MP3 player headphones work?
I gotta go with the fact that not all flights have TV's. Plus it doesn't matter if it is "long haul" or "short haul".
I routinely fly from Prince George to Vancouver (45 minute flight) and it ALWAYS has had TV's.
Last year in October we flew from PG to Vancouver - had TV's. Then we flew from Vancouver to LAX and there weren't TV's on the plane. Same thing coming home. No TV's from LAX to Vancouver but there were TV's for Vancouver to PG. Kids were really disappointed. But it's amazing how some paper and crayons can quickly replace the loss of TV ...
I've flown West Jet twice (in other words, 2 return trips). The only time there were televisions was on the New York City to Toronto flight....that's like a 1 hour flight! Would have much preferred it for the Orlando flights. LOL
