Westjet seat sale

Well, we are flying the red-eye from Edmonton for our trip in Sept. and I thought it was not a bad schedule when I first booked it back in Dec....Hopefully I will still feel that way when we fly in Sept., LOL...We leave Edmonton at 1:00 am and arrive Toronto at 6:30 a.m. then fly at 10:00 a.m. to Orlando, arriving around 12:45. I thought in the 3 hrs. between flights, we will have enought time to clear customs (which I am told is done at the stop in Toronto)...then have some breakfast and by the time that is done, it should be close to bording time again. I am hoping I will be able to sleep some on the plane. I really do not like flying that much (am a nervous flier)...so I hope I will be able to relax and sleep at least some of the night. This was the only flight that I could find that would get us in at a decent hour...My family absolutely refused to fly United, or an American carrier this time....they wanted a Canadian carrier all the way through (at least they will have an in-flight entertainment system of some sort this trip)! :)

I flew the Air Canada redeye from Edmonton to Toronto dozens of times years ago. Must have been the mid '80s when the 767s were new-ish. We were usually only half full and were really spoiled by the crew. Then there was the time I got an old 727 and nearly froze to death...

Anyway if you're the kind that can sleep on a plane go for it and even if you can't you'd be surprised what you can survive with a bit of determination.

We always need to rest when we arrive anyway so it's not a big deal if we arrive at 12:00 or 4:00. One thing we will never do again is the 6:00 am departure out of Orlando. That was a tough day on only a few hours sleep.

But you're going to WDW, I'm sure you'll have a great trip, however you get there!:)

Actually it's not a red eye, we depart 10:30am direct flight to Orlando, then depart 1:55 pm direct back to Toronto. We stay at my Aunt's house, she's 5min taxi drive to the airport , get up at 6:30am to be at the airport for 7:30. Works well for us!:thumbsup2

We got the same flight for our sept trip and it was just over $1000 for teh 3 of us.....I will gladly pay that to fly out of Pearson. I would never fly out of Buffalo!

Usually we've always flown Spirit out of Detroit, but this time $99 one way fares came up for WestJet.
To fly the three of us out of Toronto, the total was $951, taxes in, return.
To fly out of Detroit on Spirit at the same time was $850 but you have to factor in the exchange and getting to Detroit, so it worked out to be more.
Not a whole lot more, but enough to make me want to leave from Canada.
And it's keeping a few of my dollars here too!
Our last flight with Spirit was pretty bad, no matter how cheap the price.
The flight attendants were cranky (last flight of the day), were snide to passengers (although some had it coming) and the seats were so close together my husband and I had metal bar marks across our knees for two days. Brutal.

crazyford....ok sorry did not read beyond your post about 6-7 hr drive....if you stay at a hotel you can have parking inlcuded. go to sleepparkfly.com and check out the prices.

Thanks, that's a good tip. :thumbsup2 I am finally happy with our Westjet prices and direct flights, but will keep this for future reference. Usually when I price anything out of TO it's a minimum of $1800 , usually $2200 for the 4 of us, so I still think we got a good deal at $1200 for 4 of us:wizard:

We (2 adults, 4 children age 3 - 10) are looking at dates for Disney either end of Sept (to get the dining deal), early Nov (my bday and shuttle launch) or Feb (son's bday and another shuttle launch). We are 3 hours from Moncton, and 5 hours from Halifax. Has anyone ever seen cheap flights from either of these airports to Orlando? Or would most from the area drive to Portland / Bangor and fly from there? I'm willing to do that (I like the Custom's people at the border much better then the ones at the airport). From what I've seen so far, it's about $600 CDN each from Halifax (with WestJet / Air Canada seat sale) and $300 CDN from Portland, ME).

Hey....My brother and his family live near saint john and fly out of portland maine for the cheap flights. They paid under 1000.00 for the 4 of them last march break (08) and just over 1000.00 this past christmas to fly to orlando to meet us at disney. Great price for 4!!
It's a 5 hour drive for them I think to Portland so they usually drive the day before and stay over but it's still worth it!
