Westjet has just said it is getting rid of the surcharges because of the price of oil. I'm going to try and call to find out if I get a credit for the flights I have booked and I check-in with you guys later.

I'd love to hear your response as we are flying Westjet in November.

I just got this e-mail too. It's great!

I've also just read that Air Canada has dropped the 2nd bag charge. It's now back to 2 bags for free. I just flew AC about 2.5 weeks ago and had to pay $26 for the extra bag. NOT happy. They couldn't have changed this BEFORE I flew!

We called Westjet as we have tickets for October and December. You can get the difference in credit (assuming the airfare is still the same or lower) minus a $50 (per person, per ticket) change fee.

We are annoyed since we just booked the December tickets 3 days ago!

Very good news indeed. I noticed prices are dropping on flights also. I saw some really great prices out of Calgary to Orlando through Continental for October and November.:thumbsup2

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, my boys had flag football tonight, but ya that's what Westjet told me too.

You all might want to try again, I called yesterday and they told me what they told all of you. Well today I get the email from Westjet and it says they will elimate the fuel s/c. No notice that i have to rebook, pay fees anything. So I called back and although I had to speak to a team leader I received my fuel s/c back. So give it another call. Can't hurt.

I am very happy with the way WJ handled this and I will book with them again

Good Luck!!!
