Westjet from Calgary, TVs??

Just wondering want the chances are that we will have the seatback TVs for our Westjet direct flights from Calgary and back. Has anyone been on this flight?? I might bring the DVD player if we won't have the TV to keep the kids from going crazy.

Chances are very good. WestJet uses 737 700's and 800's only when doing transborder flights, at least to the best of my knowledge (which as WestJet's offical biggest fan is pretty good). And all the 700's should have LiveTV by now and the 800's come with them already. Same with 600's.

We flew from Toronto to MCO one month ago. We didn't have tvs on the flight down or the flight back. And it's no use calling them to ask because they won't know what plane you'll get.

My cousin flew West Jet from Toronto to Las Vegas in November and didn't have tvs on the way down but did have them on the way back.

If it's not a burden to pack and you want to make sure the kids don't go crazy, pack the dvd player. There's no guarantee that you'll get a tv.

We flew Westjet in December from Calgary to Orlando and our plane did not have TV's. I'm not sure if it was because we were travelling during the slow season (first week of Dec). Our plane was a smaller one and it was only 3/4 full.

Thanks for the info so far, I think I will probably error on the side of caution and bring the old portable dvd along or at least make sure the gameboys are all charged up!!

We went Oct 30 - November 13 and flew Westjet direct from Calgary to Orlando. We had tv's both ways. Not only that but on our flight home, one of the owners of Westjet was on our flight and was GREAT. He was on the flight with his family, and him and his son served the drinks!! He also gave some information of Westjet's future plans. He stated that they are looking at having internet, as well as movies (right on the tvs in the seatbacks). Something to look forward to. He also said that the plane we were on was brand new. Only 1 month old. I can't say enough good stuff about them, they were awsome.
