Has anyone here flown on this yet? I am flying to London and looking at the preferred economy (not premium), which is first few rows and has additional leg space. Checking to see if worth the $$? I can get bulkhead as well, but not a fan of the tv and everything in the arm rest.

I was just looking at the same flight for our Disney cruise next September. The last time we flew to London with WestJet was just before the Dreamliners started flying. It was one of the worst flights I’ve ever been on! The lady in front of me put her seat back as soon as she was allowed and didn’t sit the seat up until just before landing! For 10 LONG hours, the distance from the back of her seat to my face was the length of my iPad! I was so claustrophobic I just wanted to get off!! This time we are for sure paying the $60 each extra for the preferred seat. My opinion, the extra room is well worth it!! I am curious to know if the Dreamliner has more space between the rows in econo seating than the regular WestJet planes.

Thanks. Yes i had this happen just for 3 hours to LA one time and drove me nuts. I want to buy premium but can’t justify the $$ right now. Im just wondering how much rxtra room there is? It says 4” on one place i found. I can still get bulkheads but im a bit of a bigger person and dont like a seat i cant put the armrest up. My daughter is skinny so with armrest up it works! Lol.

When choosing my seat in advance I always consult seatguru.com to check the best seats and rows for all the different airlines and aircraft. People also submit reviews for certain seats and this is really helpful imho!

We flew the Dreamliner to London in Feb 2020. It was phenomenal. On the way there we did the first class (or whatever they call it) where you have your own pod. Amazing. Had a great sleep and way too much to drink and eat.

On the way home we did the middle section. Service was just as amazing and tons of leg room and comfy seat with foot rest. Did the bulkhead and thought it was great. You won’t regret it!

I've seen it SOOOO many times!!!! But never been on it!

Just a word of caution re bulkhead seats. These are popular with families with babies and toddlers because they have more room for all their baby equipment, can let the toddler crawl on the floor, etc. This means that everyone else in that row and in the few rows behind will be up all night with screaming children when their little ears pop and hurt. The scent of dirty diapers. Littles climbing up onto the seat and reaching over the seat to try to grab anything on your tray. Even if you pack earplugs (which you should on all flights) you will be distracted from dozing in your seat by Moms and Dads trying to cradle and walk their babies up and down the aisle to stop them from crying in the night. I made this mistake once. Never again. I now book an aisle seat mid way on the plane so I can at least stretch out one leg.

We have a flight Calgary-Maui next Jan and paid $90 extra for extra legroom seat for the 6 hour flight. Money well spent.
