Anyone here book the Westjet Kids fly free! Dreams can come true package?

I tried for December, but all Value Resorts were booked ... anyone have the Moderate packaged booked?

Same experience, no value resort for any 7 days starting Nov. 30 to Dec. 11.

But we need help. Never been there before. We will not have a car but I'm wondering what are the disadvantages of considering Downtown Disney Resort Area Hotels in stead of a Disney Resort. Can't get my head around what everything is telling me, what perks are worth the money difference between the DDRAH and value resorts. DDRAH say can shuttle or walk to Disney buses? Are they free if you are at a DDRAH instead of at Disney? Am I correct the only differences are free airport transfers, can't ship purchases to your hotel and can't buy dining plan. Is Dining Plan a must have anyway, sounds like a headache if you have to have reservations booked because WDW had a special including free Dining for this time period and you have to worry about planning your whole day around what time is your reservation and the trouble of travelling to a specific restaurant at a specific time. We are a family of 7.

All I can tell you is this ,suppossedly the Disney transportation system is for the use of Disney resort guest only however I"ve never seen anyone questioned when boarding a bus so take from that what you will.Secondly airport transportation can add up for 7 ppl (theres 6 in our family) and the magic express is a no brainer ,no looking for luggage you just find the kiosk get on the bus and your there takes around an hr maybe.
Number 3 the dinning plan is a pain in the butt.for us however it works well .The budgeting is done you never have to worry about how much for how many ,however with parties of 6 or more they will hit you with an automatic gratuity at any table service meals so keep that in mind as well. You can either charge it to your room or pay it by credit card or cash right there. Also without reservations the chances of scoring a sit down meal will be slim but you can check at guest relations at each pak the morning you arrive and see whats available,we've changed reservations that way a few times and were pleasantly surprised.
If this is your first time going no matter where you stay get a copy of the Unofficial guide to WDW .It as well as these boards are an invaluable resource.
This will be our 6th trip down to the kingdom of the rat ,lol. Keep in mind that Disney loves you as long as you bring cash and lots of it.We have done it both on site and off. For us staying on site just works to well with 4 kids tagging along but I can sympathise about the cost and with no value resorts available it"d be a hard call for me as well but I think if I was staying off site even at the downtown area id rent a van just my opinion though.:confused3

Can you share a link for this promotion. I can't find any details on WestJet's site.

Thanks
Vickie

Does the westjet deal include all of your children or just one with each full price adult? In that case it may be in your best interest to try to fly out of the states if you live close enough to an airport. IMO for your first trip I would definately stay onsite, things just go smoother that way.

I think the Westjet promotion finished all ready, it included free dining and free airfare (one child per adult). So it finished with the free dining promotion.

Dining plan is definitely not a must have. We're doing it this fall for the first time just because we got free dining. Been to Disney many times before and never wanted it. Being first timers you are probably best off just eating when you like just don't expect to do sit down meals without reservations. In the past we have just booked 2 or 3 nice sit down meals throughout the week, otherwise we just do counter service when we're hungry. The kids would rather be on rides than eating.

We love the Disney hotels because of the transportation. Different family members can return to the hotel at different times. We also love the theming it's part of the whole experience. The Disney hotel transportation will be much more convenient than the downtown Disney transport.

I would second the recommendation to buying the Unofficial Guide to WDW, it's a great book.

The other perk to Disney hotels that you didn't mention is the extra magic hours. Which is big perk especially when you're going thre will be shorter hours at the parks.

We got this deal for Nov9-18...but we were days trying to secure it and finally had to call Westjet vacations directly. Something about "changing their system" and "everything not being up yet". Anyway we finally did get it but I think booking for it is over (as of last Friday). We did manage to get Pop, but that's probably because we were booking for November.
