I was thinking of paying a change fee and extending our trip by one day. I looked and instead of flying YVR to SNA they now put us arriving into LAX. UGH!!!! No email to let us know!!! I hate LAX it’s such a pain. I also had a nice 3pm flight out on day we leave sna and now it’s 12:15 out of LAX. We are going to have to leave extra early due to traffic.
I knowI can get a refund but will just deal with it
But the flights they moved us to are $50 cheaper. We better get a refund!!

I used to hate LAX with a vengeance we used to live in Brisbane and had to fly through there to get to Orlando. Now back in the U.K. we went to California and Hawaii so 3 flights through LAX 1 domestic two international and we found it fine a lot better than it used to be

:confused3 I personally have never had any trouble with LAX - no different at all than any other major airport. And WestJet has it's own terminal; you basically walk right out of Arrivals to the baggage carousel which is at ground level to exit for transportation.

Regarding the topic of this thread, yes, this has been happening all month - CHECK YOUR WESTJET RESERVATIONS!!
 
Oh last time we were at LAX it was under major construction. It was a hot mess. That is why bad memories of it. But now instead of a $30 cab ride to Disney it’s $125 cab ride!!!

4 times!!! 4 different trips (UK, Maui, California). 2 with notice via e-mail, 2 without. Thanks to the posters here, I checked Westjet.com for our other flights and, sure enough, ALL have been cancelled adding or subtracting between 12-24 hours to each trip. This is just NOT on! I've written to CBC - who already covered this in a story but, I'm hoping they'll continue to - as well as local news outlets. I'm out of pocket $1,500 for overnight stays now required + extra time off work + missed non-refundable hotel stays. Okay - rant over. Suffice it to say - I'm absolutely livid!
 
Well now you can extend your trip with no exchange fee as they made the chsnge and canceled flights!

I think it’s a problem with all airlines now with Covid. I routinely check my flights on the Alaska App. Noticed big yellow warning sign on flight and message to phone Alaska.
Flight cancelled. I had a 6pm flight out of mco. With a connection in SeaTac to YVR. Now it’s switched to 2pm American to Chicago, Alaska to SeaTac, then the little hopper home to YVR.
At first they wanted to switch me to an early 7am flight the next day. Um no thanks. Pay another night hotel to get up and leave hotel by 4am to get to airport?

A few weeks ago my incoming flight was changed so I did extend trip and came in 2 nights early :rolleyes1

I think this is the way it is for now until this Covid is over.
 
Westjet just changed our flights. They bumped our flight to MCO to the next day. Then for the return flight we were originally leaving at 6:25pm now we are on a flight that leaves at 1:20pm. We are going to have to cancel.

Not Disney, but Westjet changed our flight to and from the Bahamas, so our 5 night stay is only 3 night now, which is too short.
I’m not even sure that I’ll have better luck with them changing/cancelling flights if I look for something domestic.
 
I managed to pick the right flights- I survived the latest cuts 😂 (I’m going late September)
 
Ugh! Westjet just changed our return flight. We were originally leaving at 6:25pm now we are on a flight that leaves at 1:20pm. We hoped to have at least half a day at Disney on our last day. This really sucks!
They did the exact same thing for us a few weeks back for our return on Saturday Aug. 21. I booked via airmiles so called them and pushed it back a day to the Sunday.
 
JetBlue just made our direct flight home a stopover at JFK I think I can cancel and get a refund now. After I rebooked I had $490 left in a travel bank.. I wonder if I lose that or if all of it can go to a new travel bank extended for another 2 years hmmm
We still have flights out of Toronto same days with westjet as of now
