Westjet - Advance Seat Selection for $10-$15

Westjet has started advance seat selection for $10 per one way flight and $15 for emergency row. You can add it to already booked trips with exception of Airmiles flights(just tried).

Thats too bad. One of the things I liked about WJ was the free seat selection. Sign of the times I guess.

I thought they did this already for Canadian internal flights....but not for US ?

You can still get your seat selection free, but you have to wait until your inside of 24hour flight window.

They just started this for advance seat selection(more then 24hrs from flight time).

We are flying Spirit Air out of Detroit in September and they started that too.
Does West Jet charge for checked luggage? Spirit does that as well. I guess its just a sign of the times but our "cheap" flight is about $250 more total from
when we went last year from just under $600 US last year to about $830 this year for the 3 of us. I would rather the airlines just put it all in the total so we don't feel nickeled and dimed.

No, Westjet doesn't charge for checked luggage, YET!

I totally agree that the airlines should have all fee's and extra chargs in the fares they advertise, on a recent search from Saskatoon to Las Vegas, a $402 flight got pushed to over $600 with taxes, fee's, and fuel surcharges!!!
