Hi
My friend Has RCI timeshare and is trying to exchange a week. We've been offered Westgate Vacation Villas.
Has anybody stayed there?
Where exactly is it?
How far to the parks?
Do they offer a shuttle service to WDW?
Any other info would be great.
Thanks
Tracy

Westgate is a nice place, just stay away from the sales presentation. We own there and enjoy it. Lots of room in the villas, pools are nice. We have always had clean units and they have taken care of any issues we've had promptly.

It is only about 1 mile from DW and very easy to get to and from. I am not sure if there is a shuttle or not. There are tons of restaurants around it and it is a straight shot down 192 for more restaurants. I think the location is excellent.

It is right off of 192, that is the best I can do for directions.

We are trying to sell ours, just b/c we don't like paying the maintanance fees and we want to stay on property more. We have rented ours out several times. Several friends have rented from us more than once.

You've listed three timeshares that surround the Disney property on three sides - Cypress Pointe, Vacation Village at Parkway and Westgate Villas. Interestingly we own or have stayed multiple times at all of them. In order I would take CP, VV and last Westgate. None are bad but Westgate is the least attractive of the three in a number of ways.

- It is on the least pedestrian friendly area of the three. It is far off the road and the property is so large you have to drive around it. Forget walking to anything.

- It is older and not that well updated. It seems Westgate is far more interested in building and selling more than holding value or updating that which they already sold.

- The sales pressure, even for owners, is intense. It can ruin an otherwise nice stay. For that reason alone I would put WG in third spot.

The other two are newer - either in construction or renovations - and offer a much better on site experience from my past visits. If Westgate was the only one offered it's fine and you'd enjoy it. But the other two choices are a big step up.
