We toured several years ago.

The older part of Westgate Lakes is where the nicest landscaping and lakeside pool area are located, with the best resort amenities - very attractive. But the rooms in that area have a bad reputation for poor maintenance.
The newer room models were very nice looking inside. A few rooms had pretty lake views. But that part of the resort (most of the whole place, really) was very high density buildings with minimal landscaping. Plenty of conveniently placed, sunny, modest-sized pools scattered between large buildings.
The location of the resort is convenient to Universal, just over I-4. However, overall, I didn't like the feel of the place - too stark and didn't "feel" like a nice timeshare "resort" to us. We don't plan to stay there.
As a warning: The salespeople were absolutely brutal, the worst we've ever had the misfortune of meeting - and we've been to many timeshares in the Orlando area. After we said no to the
very high-pressure sales offers, we were dismissed though a smelly emergency exit stairwell, which locked behind us and found ourselves next to the dumpsters, along with at least a dozen other parents. I don't imagine any of the purchasing new owners were told to exit that way.
None of us had
any idea how to get back to our kids in the children's game room, at the far side of this sprawling resort. Others had been told a golfcart would return for them inthe parking lot but we all waited 20-30 minutes in the sun. Finally, we (all!) got in the way of oncoming maintenance carts and insisted on being brought back to our children! It was awful.
If you do stay there, just do
not go to a sales tour, "required maintenance meeting" or "welcome breakfast" or any other meeting with a staff person - they are all actually sales efforts of the worst kind.
