Do you think Eastern or Western is best in June? Is it too hot to enjoy the Western at this time of the year?

I would say the weather on either is going to be good in June. We prefer the Western route because of the extra stop.

The weather should be great either cruise. In the Bahamas the temperature only varies about 5 degrees all year, but the summer months are the rainy season. It is a warm rain, but it's still wet. Of course the summer months are hurricane season too. Most occur late summer, but after last year, who knows. I know last summer they had to stay at sea a few extra days once due to the storms and for about 3 weeks they had to change ports to fort lauderdale. Keep that in mind too. We were hit 3 out of 4 hurricanes here in florida and it really upset the cruises. However a few extra days at sea for free doesn't sound too bad to me.

I think that is one of the two key things you need to decide when choosing Western or Eastern.
The other is the ports. We wanted a Caribbean cruise, so selected the Eastern. Not interested in seeing Florida or Mexico, and since Castaway Cay in the Bahamas, didn't need to go to Nassau either.

But given a choice of going on the Western, or not going, I'd put up with the Western. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We really like the Eastern too because we like the sea days and because it is so easy and stress-free to get to a beach in St. Maarten.

If you scuba, go west.
If you like more stops - go west.
If you like extra day at sea (which I found out I did) - go east.
For natural beauty (Virgin Islands alone, IMO) - go east.

I've not sailed the west, but have been to all those places, and frankly found the topside attractions a bit dull ... but the water sports were great - ESPECIALLY scuba diving.
