Western temps over Christmas time?

Coming from Western PA, with the snow falling outside, and my child home from school playing video games, I am thinking we need a warm getaway over Christmas break next year. Just wondering how warm and sunny (on average) it is around that time of year in Disneyland area? Could head to San Diego too. Want to be able to enjoy the outdoors, pool, etc...
Really, we could consider any place out west (that would be warm and dry), to relax, have some fun family style & enjoy great food.
I am wondering if the Caribbean is my best choice, but DS asked if we could go to Disneyland, as he's never been.
Thanks for your thoughts...

It's been unseasonably warm this last winter. Last Dec there were interior highs in the 80s but the majority of days had highs in the 70s with some days having highs in the 60s. If you're going to the beach, the ocean will provide some cooling.

I wouldn't expect warm weather though. Certainly no guarantees that you'd be able to enjoy an outdoor pool or the beach without a wetsuit - that's why it's called "weather". I remember when Baywatch was still in production, there were stories about their filming schedule in the winter. Some days it might be in the high 50s or low 60s, but they'd be out there wearing swimwear and getting covered with blankets between takes.

I am a So Cal native. I have experienced 80-90 degree Xmas breaks, and 30-40 degrees! it really varies.

I agree with the others. Last year, my cousin came out the day after Christmas, and it rained almost every day, and it was cold. This year it was in the 70s and 80s. Every year it is different, and has changed so much we cannot really give a decent prediction for the next year.

It really varies. I think best chance of nice weather is in Palm Springs. We stayed at a big condo resort over XMas this year and it was gorgeous (although by 4pm, too cold to swim). But it is not normal this year -warmer than normal. Not really a day trip to DL, but you could combine stays.

If you want warm without carribbean, I would head to South Florida.
