Just got back from a weekend at Universal. We wanted a cheap breakfast and stopped at the Western Steer on I-Drive. We saw signs for the $3.99 breakfast. It had to be the filthiest restaurant I have ever seen. It had holes in the walls and there was dirt scum everywhere. Wish we I had gone a little further to Ponderosa which was offering the same price. It has to be better than this place!

From my experiences the Ponderosa offers the same experience. I have heard good and bad about the the Golden Corral though.

Sweet Tomatos is now offering a breakfast buffet at their Kirkman/I drive location. They are usually a salad/soup/pasta buffet place. Has anybody tried the breakfast?

I liked Sizzler's breakfast buffet. It was $3.99 and it was pretty clean. The server was very nice.

Thanks for the cheap breakfast buffet 'fine' dining info. We will try Sizzler next time around. I saw the Sweet Tomatoes and love the ones around Tampa for lunch. Didn't know about breakfast though. I have to say I like this area. It is true that it is not congested like the other parts of I-drive. I was only familiar with the Sea World-Convention area part of this road before last weekend. This end is really easy to get around. Even found a Sonic drive-in that we took the kids for ice cream after Universal closed and all the other fast food places were closed.

Even the name sounds scary..

I do the "fine" dining as well. We went to a Ponderosa and Sizzler which were good for us last visit.

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind.

I loved Sweet Tomatoes! We only did lunch there ! I would have tried the breakfast had I known about it. :D

I have to agree with your comments about Western Steer and we went to a different branch in Kissimmee. It was absolutely disgusting, we paid for all our meals and then took one look at the food and walked out....

After that we just stuck to Sizzler, but am looking forward to trying Sweet Tomatoes.
