Has anyone on here cruised on a Western Mediterranean cruise with Royal Caribbean, and have you taken any RC shore excursions that you can give me feedback on? I've never been and I'm finding it hard to choose what to do? My husband specifically wants to book through RC for this trip. I know we aren't saving money this way, but that's what he wants to do. We are looking at excursions for Marseille (Aix-en, Provence villages or ??), La Spezia (Cinque Terre, Florence or Lucca) and Naples (Amalfi and Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento, and Pompeii). We pretty much figured out what we would like to do in Rome. Thank you!

Are you on the August 18 sailing out of Barcelona by chance? I am going on that one! I have booked an excursion for each port - very expensive but I didn't care as much because 1) I have never been to Europe 2) Language barrier 3) It was just easier this way.

I'm sorry I can't give feedback since I've never done this before - this will be our first trip to the region -

Here is what I have booked:

City of Palma Guided Tour
Marseille City Sights
Pisa City Sights
Imperial Rome ** the most expensive and the stop most important to DH and I
Exploration of Pompeii

In every case, I took the morning excursion option so we could get back on the boat by no later than 2 to have time to get in the pool, nap, explore the ship. DH has always wanted to cruise Oasis of the Seas so I really wanted to care time out for that.

It looks like the same itinerary, but I'm on the May 26 sailing.

I have these booked but some may change. I'm so torn on what to do since we only get a day in each port.
*Palma - I plan to take a taxi into town and browse around. I heard this is pretty easy to do.
*Aix On Your Own (Extended)
*Coast of Cinque Terre & Portovenere
*Pope's Summer Residence, Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica. I chose this since a few of the Rome excursions (within budget) are sold out that go to the Sistine Chapel. That is the one thing I want to do.
*Capri, Sorrento & Pompeii

I LOVE your idea of trying to get onboard before 2PM to enjoy the ship. I think I'm going to be exhausted after this trip. ;-)
