Can anyone recommend good western excursions? I'm not sure if we should just book on our own or book through disney. I was also thinking at Grand Cayman is there any public beach near the port that you can walk to?

we haven't gone to Cozumel yet, but are considering the www.cozumelhomes.com which is a dune buggy excursion. There is also the Fury Catamaran or you can just beach it.

GC there are no real "beaches" nearby. You can take a short cab ride to Seven Mile Beach ($4 per person - one way) and they will drop you right at the beach. Sea Grape and Courtyard are beautiful and have everything you need right there.

In Key West it was cool to take the trolley tour, in Grand Cayman we've done the sea turtle farm, that was cool, also the submarine was very cool, and swimming w/ stingrays!! that is pretty neat too! In Cozumel, we've done the snorkeling. that was beautiful!!! also swimming w/ the dolphins!! they were all amazing and would do them again in a heartbeat!! i think most of 7 mile beach is pretty much private... but beautiful... if they have an excursion for that , it would be fun, but I forget if they offer any. I have always done all my excursions through Disney...
