Thinking of doing the western cruise with a 3 & 5 yr olds. What are the best things to do at each of the ports? Just do the beach? Any animal type things at each spot? Stay on the ship and do the pool?

Thanks

Well, our kids simply do not like getting off the ship. When they were 3 & 5 on our 11/03 Eastern they would start whining to go back to the club or pool within five minutes of setting foot on land. :guilty: Last month on our Western they were 4 & 6 and maybe lasted 10 minutes. We didn't book any excursions due to their short tollerance but do like to walk around & find a local market to buy some souveniers. Finally in Cozumel we left DS on the ship in the club & it was much better with just DD in her stroller since she didn't have anyone to pick on. Just a warning for Cozumel though, they have torn up the main street along the water so you have to walk on the narrow sidewalk in front of the shops. They are also working on that so there are several spots where plywood is down covering the holes. Between that, the people out front trying to get you into their stores and the rude people who walked right in front of the stroller...it was very difficult for us to get down the street. On our next Western we will leave both of the kids in the club when we get off the ship.

Last january we had a 2.5 year old and a young 6. We did excursions at every port & they were no problem. Key West we used the stroller and walked Duval Street stopping for lunch. Grand Cayman we did the Stingray City with Capt Marvin & they loved it. make sure to bring snacks/sandwich with you for the kids. Cozumel we did the Dolphin excursion through DCL followed by beach time, again excellent.. They did like the pools on baord, but didn't fuss.
