Western Cruise Photos

Apparently, Yahoo Photos is less than reliable. I'm sorry for everyone who couldn't see the photos. I just checked, and they are back up, for now.

Not only did our stateroom host need a class on "remedial towel animals", he also needed "elementary bed making". He couldn't make a good bed to save his life. They always looked like they were rolled around on after they were made.

very nice photos thank you for sharing we hope to be on the western in 2006

Hurray: got to see your photos at last. It was almost like being back on board! Many thanks for the "tour" around the ship, and piccies of your fine family. Glad you met up with Geoff - the Head Server: what a great guy he is! Did he fool you with the trick about the magic straws? Thanks again for the photos - brightened up my cold, damp day here. Nat:Pinkbounc

Geoffrey didn't do any magic tricks. Since I'm an amateur (very) magician, I showed Dante a couple of tricks. So, if anyone sees the rubber band trick, it was mine!

We bought a new digital camera, and it worked great. I'm very happy with it.

:sunny: Hi randytenn!

Thanks for the great pics! We were on the same cruise and had a wonderful time. I found myself looking for people I knew as I was viewing them! We were on the adult beach about 6 chairs down from the lady sitting under the yellow umbrella! Probably walked right past you!

Were you at the cruise meet? We got there late since our dinner took forever so we might have missed you.

Did you go to the 80's night party? I was the keyboard player in the "Go-Go's" battle of the bands! DIdn't realize what I was getting myself in for when I volunteered!

It was a great cruise with great memories....but I'm going through cruise withdrawl! So we are already looking to book another!

Randytenn,

Those photos were awesome! I think I just might bookmark it to show DH and DS later. We're on the western the week of Thanksgiving...no Key West for us :( ...two trips to CC:Pinkbounc

I'm curious about the digital camera you used...DH gave me an Olympus C-740 for Christmas last year and I'm finally starting to get a feel for it and getting some nice shots. Were the ones posted all of your shots? I'm in need of a larger memory card and plan to get the 200andsomething one, but don't know if it'll be enough. I already have the 16 and the next size...and get about 100 shots with those 2 memory cards. From looking at your photos I suspect I will take many photos. Any thoughts?

Thanks for posting the great photos for us to see...and drool over. It really made me want to be there and gave a boost to my cruise planning.

Absolutely wonderful photos. You looked great for formal night all spiffed up and all! I know you will treasure the photos for every. We just can't wait!!!! Pauline

Camera info:

We bought a Canon Power Shot A-80, which is a 4 megapixel digital. I bought two 256k memory cards, which gave me plenty of room to snap away. I think there were a total of 140 photos I took (one full card and one half full), and I only posted the better ones.

I discovered that in low light, it's almost impossible to get a good shot on a moving ship. Without the flash, the exposure time is longer, and the boat moves, causing the photo to blur. I lost a lot of great shots of the shows because of that.

If you keep your eyes on this web site you can often find good deals on camera memory. My last 256k card cost about $20.00 after rebate.

Also, if you take the cards to Target, or another photo place, the pictures are quite nice they print, and much more reasonable then printing them on your own printer (very expensive for paper and ink).

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed the ones of Castaway Cay. We went on the Wonder in May and hope to do the Magic in May 2006.

Randy,

Thanks again for posting the great photos! And thanks for sharing the information about the camera equipment. I think I should be in good shape with my olympus...I'm getting better photos each time I use it. It's got the 10X optical zoom, 3.2 megapixel and a total digital zoom of 30X. I think it's only a few steps down from a cheap professional type camera. I do think I will buy a couple of the 256k memory cards which should cover me for trip.

I agree with you about printing the photos someplace like Target or Walmart (which is what I use). It really saves the wear and tear, not to mention ink on the home computer and I really think the quality is better. The price isn't too bad either.

Thanks again!
