Our window opened for booking our port adventures tonight. The Chichen Itza Mayan Ruin Adventure was not offered for Cozumel. Has it been offered on other Cruise since the reopening?

In Jamaica we were planning the private car tour but they were sold out. My daughter said ‘we can get an Uber’.

You could do that...but there's a 45 minute ferry to the mainland and if I remember correctly, Chichen Itza is about 3 hours from Playa Del Carmen. Each way.

Are there any 'mainland' port adventures being offered right now for Cozumel? I thought at one point they were only offering ones in Cozumel (no ferry trips).

I'd do some research, but from our experiences in Jamaica that could be an 'adventure' at best

I told her I don’t think so but we would research other options.

I don’t know which are mainland or not other than the Mayan ruins. My daughter is from Guatemala with a high percentage of Mayan in her so we were wanting to do those adventures.

We did Tulum through DCL and it was fabulous. Aside from making it easy, the ship waited for us when we were late arriving back to the pier. I didn't even realize we were 1/2 hour late until we crossed the brow. That was awesome peace of mind

We would be happy with Chichen or Tulum but I wouldn’t do either except thru DCL due to the distance.

I don't know if they're offering it again yet, but I'll add that we did the DCL excursion to Chichen Itza and it was worth it for us. I agree- wouldn't dare do that one not via the cruise line due to distance, even though we usually prefer other port activities to not be via the cruise line.

Not sure if you know, but if you do an on-your-own or private excursion, the ship won't wait for you if you're late. If you do it through DCL, they'll hold the ship for you - which is what happened for us when we went to Tulum. We do lot's of on-your-own explorations unless it's far away. Then we go through the ship

I don’t do excursions on our own unless we are staying close. We are only willing to do Jamaica on our own because we want to do more of a sight seeing tour of Falmouth instead of the falls or beach.

Don't Ubers require you to put in a destination? I've never heard of Ubers or Lyfts offering "tours".
That was my daughter’s first response when I told her the private tours were all sold out. I thought it was cute but I have no plans of using an Uber. I’m researching other options but not having much luck without going to a destination. I just started looking and have a few more months to figure it out.
