Western Caribbean & Currency

We will be on the Western Caribbean cruise in March (Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth Jamaica). I know the US $ is not the official currency there but do they readily accept US $? Or is it better to exchange money prior to the cruise? Thanks!

All of the ports of call you mention accept US currency. No need to change it over.

You can use US dollars. You may get local currency as small change tho (usually just coins).

Make sure you have cash for Cozumel. There are ATMs, but they charge a 10% fee to withdraw money. Most places also give a lousy exchange rate if you use a credit card.

Grand Cayman was more like the United States.
