I know what you mean about DVC as it is a popular time for DVC'ers. We are probably going to change to a special package rate at the BC for Mousefest weekend. With that you get a free VIP dessert buffet and Illuminations viewing which was excellent last year. We stayed at POP last time, and whilst we really liked it, this time we will be going from SSR so think BC would a nice.

That was my thought too. I now have over 700 users, approaching 750 so I thought it would be good, but there's a problem with DVC and getting a room straight through at this point without having to switch rooms and/or resorts.

I had a nightmare wait, last minute reprieve when I rented DVC. It's really a crap shoot unless you pick travel dates and book something as soon as your window opens.

Good morning kids. I slept in a bit today and that was nice, but the coolest time of day is over, so yard work has to wait till twilight or tomorrow morning. Peg heads off on vacation tomorrow to North Carolina to spend a few days with my brother and a few with my ex-sister-in-law (the one who's 'dear in the headlights' photo is in Monica's trip report! ) I'll be checking in on my DBIL and the puppies, to make sure they stay out of trouble....OK, really, to swim in their pool!

Well, after all this talk this week about cleaning and purging, I think I'll go find a home for all my trip stuff and clean out a drawer or two.

Life with a Celebrity, Part 2

You would think that since the PBS documentary played over week ago, that the hubbub over Sukie would have died down. It hasn't.

He is still getting stopped. People point at him, whisper to each other, and then shyly ask him, "Are you...?"

Throughout all of this, I just walk 3 paces behind him, carrying his handbag.

Today I am finally going to transfer the PBS documentary from the DVR to a DVD. I started to do that last Saturday night, but realized the entire documentary (and pledge drive) would have to play while it records. Today I will do it, and just let it run. I will then import the video into my iMac and edit out the pledge drive, and burn a new DVD.

I have had nearly 2 weeks to compare Sukie live and Sukie on TV. I have come to a pretty dramatic conclusion ... I think I prefer Sukie on TV. You might wonder why? I have found out that on TV when Sukie starts talking, I can switch him off.

What was the name of the show again Ian? I wonder if it is on PBS on line yet.

So I gotta ask for some help here ...

On July 17-20 my town is having our annual summer festival. We call it Billy Barker Days in honour of the BC Gold Rush of the late 1800's that happened in this area (thus the giant gold pan as our town symbol).

We have a nice little parade (it's not too fancy, but it is one of the largest family parades in the interior of BC).
This year my dad wants to enter his 1926 Cadillac:

. I will be driving the '63 and was thinking of putting my girls in it as well.

My question is this:
What should I and the girls be wearing for "period" outfits to go with the car? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Well maybe, as Shannon might have to make the outfits ...

I think that would be great! You should all dress up in period..that would be so cute! Take lots of pictures!

Cleaning and pool time today - it is gorgeous out.

I finally found a Dumbo like Haley's on Ebay but it's 30-40! I paid like $3.99 for that on clearance at the Disney store.

Why are you having to look for a new Dumbo? Did he go missing? Oh my your house must be a battle zone while he is gone!

Looks like I'll be missing everyone I was originally booked the first week of Dec, but had to change it due to work, so was able to book Oct 25-Nov2 with the bounceback promo. I'm hoping Monica will be able to meet up sometime that week

Yes, I got them on June 5 (only remember because Scott took our DVD drive with him to Vegas so I wouldn't look at them without him!). I still need to send Lisa her pic and DVD. I will look through our paperwork and see if they said anything about yours. I wouldn't think yours would be that much further behind ours. I'll get back to you!
