Westbound Repo Ship of Thieves-Remember the Magic!

We are making provisional plans and second choices for next year. Keeps me from moping around!!!

One of our plans is to visit the west coast area for 3 or so weeks. This would be in addition to a few weeks at WDW. Dates are interchangeable at the moment.

You west coast people, would you recommend May, or September into October for your area? If we go to WDW in May, then we go to the west in September, or vice versa.

Marilyn, I missed this one. May is the most beautiful month in Oregon. There are daisies, golden poppies and other flowers everywhere. There also are a million shades of green. By Sept we have usually dried out a bit and it is not quite as beautiful. October is a great time for the Oregon Coast. The weather is usually in the mid 70's in May (not this year though!) with some sunny days and some days of drizzle. Early Sept is usually hot (in the 90's which is HOT here) and dry, late Sept it should be back into the 80's at the highest. October our temps have cooled back down into the 80's early in the month and into the 70's by mid month. We also have usually had some rain by October so things are greened back up. Our rain is Oct to June, so Aug and Sept it seems a bit brown here to us. For the Pacific Northwest I would say May or October would either be good.

Goodmorning all, Well, its a quite morning heading into a day of cleaning, Costco and drive in movies.

Marilyn, Where do you want to go on the west coast? In Southern CA, May is usually very pretty here because absolutely everything is in bloom, but still not hot. It can still be cool at night, but nice during the days. CAdventure has the food festival which is not a huge event like WDW, but still fun to do. San Diego is also lovely at that time of year. No. Cal is also very pretty and in bloom in May as well.

The fall is usually quite warm to very hot, most of our area is browner than green as it is fire season. So, you won't see the beautiful flowers everywhere that we have in the spring. However, it is very easy to get around the the amusement parks because everyone is in school and you have no crowds anywhere. The beaches are very nice at that time of year. As you get to October it will get windy, but it is not windy every day just during the Santa Ana winds. It will be very dry, during the winds in the fall which is what causes the fires. We never have the humidity that Orlando has (well maybe for 2 weeks in August.) That is why so many people come here and get so sunburned... they just don't realize how strong the sun is if they are used to humidity with the heat. We've been to Orlando in May 3 times and it has always been beautiful.

It really depends on what you are looking for because the weather is nice here year round. Chilly in January and Feb.

We are home, hit the ground running and are doing fine.

Well, at least she put the butter ON something. Tyler kept opening the packets of butter and EATING it by itself. It was a fight to keep the butter away from him. GROSS!

We've got a butter lover here too.

We are actually thinking of using some miles to fly back for this fall mouseadventure. And looking forward to the one in WDW next year.
I also heard on one of their podcasts that there will be a mini-mouseadventure at mousefest in WDW this year too! We could end up having been in 4 mouseadventures this year!!

That sounds really fun!!!

Well, the Magic is in port here and none of the webcams and our morning news are not showing it. Usually the webcam is pointing right at the ships in port behind our weather report (or at Tom Sawyers island at DL.) I emailed and called the news channel to tell them we want to see it, but they are pointing to some strange place instead.

I've been listening to the DL fireworks every night at 9:30 and still haven't made it over there since getting home.

Overall I loved the cruise and will do another one, but DCL is not perfect. Of course, neither am I

Tut to the port authorities. Don't they realise our obsessions? Surely the Magic is still a novelty there.

We loved the fireworks at DL, though the crowds were much worse than WDW. I suppose that is because they are not held every night. We did find a good spot. I think they are better than WDW.

That's actually one of my favorite pics from the whole cruise. This was the day he kept getting off the slide and running back to the stairs to go back & do it again. I lost count after 20 trips down the slide! He just kept going and going. And I got to sit on the edge of the pool and relax and had a nice visit with Deborah & Olivia.

The storms here we so horrible last night that my windows were rattling from the wind and I kept hearing things bumping up against the house because lots of stuff was flying around in the air. I've never seen wind that strong, other than tornadoes. I was here posting my last pics of the night and heard what sounded like a huge semi truck driving past my house but I looked out and saw no vehicles, it was just THE WIND. The sound wasn't quite that freight train sound of tornadoes, but I was about to go make Tyler get out of bed to go somewhere safer in the house, but quickly turned on the tv on my way to see if it said a tornado warning. Nope, it just said severe thunderstorm with extremely high winds, so we were fine. This morning on the way to church, it was difficult driving because EVERY street we went down had uprooted trees. About every 3rd street we passed, when we looked down it, we could see a giant tree or sometimes just a smaller one that had fallen across the road, completely blocking the road. A block down from our house a giant tree is across the road, and where the roots were pulled up, the SIDEWALK is completely raised! I can't wait to watch the news and see if there was a tornado that maybe just didn't touch down but just blew overhead because I've never seen so many giant trees completely uprooted from just wind. Before we go to the movie, Tyler wants to walk down and take a picture of that giant tree across the road, so I'll post it later. Amazing. We're the only house in the neighborhood that doesn't have branches all over the yard & driveway.

Can anyone that had children age 11-13 in Ocean Quest tell me if there was an option to choose not to have your child sign themselves out? On the main boards there is a discussion going on and most are saying that this age group no longer has the choice NOT to sign themselves out. Since the WB cruise was the first time they created this new age group there are a lot of questions being asked about it
