Today (Thursday Sept 13) West Jet has a one day sale.
Orlando is $139 one way (from Winnipeg)

It's $99.00 from Toronto.

From WestJet.ca website...

Book today (September 13) for travel until December 12, 2007. Advertised fares are for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and may be slightly higher on other days of the week.Taxes, fees and surcharges are extra where applicable. Seats at these fares are limited and may not be available on all flights. Flights may not operate on certain days. New bookings only. 50% discount is applied to WestJet's lowest regular fares. Fares shown already reflect the 50% discount. All fares shown are one-way.

What do the fares come to after all the taxes, airport fees ,etc?

For the Calgary to LAX departure including taxes, fees and surcharges it comes to 186.99 or 373.00 return

Best I could get from Halifax at the tail end of the sale (Dec dates) was over $500 pp all in. And I called before 9 am Atlantic, so if it was available, I got the best choices. Man, doesn't seem to matter what they do with prices, the taxes and fees in Canada really do a number on prices. Paid about $130 pp in taxes/fees for a "free" ticket from Aeroplan this morning.

Good today bookings only-but it is really hard to get on their site right now!

From YYZ-MCO in Oct/07 listed as $99 one way-with taxes $177

Has anyone ever had a credit with Westjet? Are they easy to use?

Just had my fare from TO to VANC reduce by $148! Now I have a credit.

Its real easy to use the credit. I actually had a credit with them that I sold I on eBay. In that case I just gave the winning bidder the confirmation number and my last name. He had no problem whatsoever.

Oh man, I was so pumped when I read this thread. Unfortunately for me, it was somehow more expensive! Through itravel2000.com, I was looking at $1650 for a family of 4 for good timed flights for the last week of Nov. Thru Westjet.ca, it was $1750. If I take an 8pm flight on my departure date, I can bring it down to $1550, but I would waste the entire day.

Thanks for the heads up though. LOVE THESE HEADS UP THREADS!!!

Can you get any of the U.S. airports flights to work for you?

It's only a couple of hours to Buffalo, plus the border.Four Hours to Detroit. This October 4 of us are flying return out of Detroit to Orlando MCO for 475 USD total, taxes and all.

Breaks down to about $125 Canadian each. Parking at Detroit's Airport is $9.00 USD per day. Even cheaper in Buffalo

WestJet for my family of four, Oct 3-9 = $1216.80CDN
Southwest from my family of four, Oct 3-9 = $700.19CDN

$516.61 difference, that pays for FOUR[4] nights at POP. S

West Jet:

I also noticed that the fares are low from Toronto to Orlando late November. I guess I should have been more patient instead of booking with Air Canada for double the money.

Unfortunately we do not have the option of flying SW...sigh!

YA... around CA$300 R/T YYZ-MCO. GREAT DEAL... if only it was into march break!

We flew out of Buffalo for our August trip. Would definitely do the Buffalo thing again. Unfortunately, I'm supposed to fly out on Nov 25. That's the Sunday after U.S. Thanksgiving and I think the fares are really high. The best I can do is SW there and AirTran on the way back on the 30th. Still comes out to US$1100 or something. Then add a night's hotel stay in Buffalo and we're saving only about $300 for the trip. We saved $800 last time, but for $300, I might just fly out of YYZ.

i agree, we did not factor in the hotel last time, and that ended up a being a lot.

we're flying out of buffalo on air tran to save a ton of cash.
the flight times suck but it's worth it to save the money.
