What time do you make your dinner ADR's for?

With the time difference I am really confused as to when because if I wait until the 8pm time frame (5pm PST) we could miss out on the fireworks and parades.

Do you have any strategies you use?

I make them for the same times I would normally eat. So if I eat dinner at 6pm in my time zone then I eat at 6pm in their time zone. I find that I adjust quickly to the time change.

We make our first night ADRs a bit later to accommodate airport transfer and hotel check-in. The remaining evenings we try and aim for anywhere between 6 and 7pm. On MNSSHP night, Our ADRs are very early, so we'll probably have a late breakfast and no lunch.

It also depends on how late the parks are open when you travel, so I take that into consideration, as well.

Good luck!

We make ours for 5:30-6:30 since that is when we normally eat. Also, that way we can tour later in the evening when the crowds go down a bit. I also find that getting seated and served goes faster and smoother when we arrive before the big crowds.

We do the same. The first night we don't go to parks, we go to Chef Mickey's around 8pm-8:30 pm. The next morning we have a brunch and dinner. Then back to regular meal schedules, as we would at home.

We have dinner scheduled at 7 pm at Concourse Steakhouse the night we arrive, to give us a bit of leeway if our flight is late. Normally, we eat off site when we do our "comfort" shopping that evening!

All of our other dinners are scheduled between 4:10 and 6:30 pm--depends on what was available. We're having a late lunch at SSR one day, planning to attend MNSSHP that evening.

We're on the free DDP on our upcoming visit, which includes far more ADRs than we normally make. Usually it's about every three days, some on site, some off site.

BTW, I'm in AZ, my friend lives in CA. Both of us adjust our daily schedules for a few days before leaving for WDW.

We adjust to the time zone difference fairly quickly so thats not an issue. We tend to base our ADRs on what we plan to do that day and what we want to see that evening. We schedule them around different things. So some of our dinners are as early as 4:30, and others are as late at 8:50. It just depends from day to day. But thats sorta how we do things when we are home as well. There is no set time we eat.

For us, our stomachs did not adjust as quickly to the time zone and found we did better eating later, and closer to the time at home. Originally, I made ADRs for 6-7pm Florida time to try and maximize touring, parades and shows. I spent a lot of time researching and laying out timelines. After the 4th day or so at WDW, we started changing our times to later time 8-9pm and found we did a lot better. When the original ADR's were for 6pm, we just weren't hungry, even though we had lunch at 11am. Our next trip is a year from next week and for that trip I plan on making the dinner ADR laters. Will probably stick with the earlier lunch ADRs like last time, because we always eat a small breakfast and are fairly hungry by lunch. Everybody is different and thanfully we didn't have a hard time changing the ADRs at the last minute. I think the later time aren't as popular.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

My biggest problem is that we are early risers at home (4:30am) so we eat dinner around 5 however my MIL & FIL eat around 8pm, late risers. So, to make us all happy I was making them later.

My family always eats late anyway, so most of our ADR's are in the 6-8PM range.

Just wondering Luv's Tink, with trying to accomodate everyone had you thought of having a big sit-down lunch and doing CS for dinner?

This year we are opting for earlier times, but last year we ate a lot of later meals, I think either would work fine... you will probably be on East Coast time before you know it - we plunge right into it on day one and keep on going! This year our meal times are a bit earlier, they range from 6:30 to 9:00pm. The hard part for us is not dinner, it's breakfast... imagine trying to eat breakfast at 5am our time... uuugghh!

We usually dine between 5-7pm ET starting on the day we arrive. Since our travel day usually starts very early and since the airlines don't really serve meals any more we find it's pretty easy to adjust to the new time zones.

We are 5-6 hours behind WDW. We always try to eat between 5-6, even earlier than we would at home. It really seems to help with crowds and just forces us to adjust to the time change better.

We do 6-7 as we try to adjust to East coast time so that we can take advantage of the early morning EMH hours.
