Does anyone know if 1:00pm is too late to get to the port for the west coast cruise?

We got to the port around 12:30, and by the time we boarded the ship, it was about 3:30! All aboard time was supposed to be 4:00 and the emergency drill was done at 4:15. The ship left on time at 5:00. The lines were incredibly long! We chose to go on the Castaway Club line thinking it would be shorter, but ended up taking longer since there were only a few counters open since the left side of the terminal (where the Castaway Club line was located) shared the counters with the non-US citizens line.

Maybe because it was the first time and people were still inefficient with the new procedures, but I would advise to get there earlier. Hopefully they have streamlined the procedures and it will go much smoother the rest of the way.

We got to the port around 11:00. Check in at the castaway club counter took about 20-30 minutes. When you first walk into the building they give you a card with a boarding group number. We were in group 5. They started boarding through group 5 about 12:45 and we were on the ship about 1:00.

I am beginning to think that is a better idea getting there at 11am and waiting to board instead of getting that at noon and maybe not getting on the ship till 3pm and having to wait in line. Getting a low boarding # and sitting down waiting instead of standing in line to board.
