My son is staying here in May with his high school band group so I was wondering if anyone could give us any feedback (good or bad) on this hotel?

We really like this hotel. This is basically our "home" if we don't stay at the Disney hotels. It has interior corridirs, a nice pool area with a pool snack shop and bar. You can get a room up high (I think there are 12 floors, that you can have a nice view of California Adventure park and the lights. There is a nice sized gift shop, two onsite restaurants, one is a steakhouse, one is a coffee shop. Pretty good food, decent priced. We have never payed more than $65 per night for our rooms. They use the ART transit system, and it goes to 3 other hotels also. But it is the first to get picked up and the first to get dropped off. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the gates at Disneyland, and we walk a lot because it's easier than folding the double stroller! Also there is a 7 eleven across the street we use a lot because it is on the way to the park and we pick up stuff for the day and at night for back at the hotel! In all, It is a great hotel for the price, I would even pay up to $99 a night for it in peak season. Well I can't think of anything else, let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the great info Andrea! I do have a couple more questions.

I'm trying to figure out where this place is. Is it south or north of Disneyland's main entrance on Harbor?

Also do you remember if there are any fast food places within easy walking distance? I'm sure the high school kids would be more likely to go someplace like that than to eat at of the nicer restaurants inside the hotel. Appreciate your help!

Hi! There are a few fast food places across the street that are like pizza and chinese food, but we haven't braved them yet. They are just little "whole in the wall" places, which sometimes end up being great, but I wasn't willi ng to chance on vacation! Hungry teenage boys might though, LOL. There is also a Mcdonalds across from the main entrance to Disney, so they could take the shuttle and hop across quick to that or pick it up before heading back to hotel. Sounds like a great trip, I think I would have to make an "excuse" to go with my girls, not so I could watch them, but just an excuse to go again.

we stay there too and it's a great hotel, my partner goes off to watch the LA Kings leaving me in the room and this is one hotel I'll happily wander round on my own. As for fast food,We love US fast food (its a treat for us remember!) so are well versed in what's where - I even carry home taco bell sauce! The Chinese buffet place mentioned by Matterhorn is okay, there's a subway in that block too. There's Dennys and IHOP directly opposite DL. About a 2 blocks further south of the hotel is a Carls Jnr and about 10-15 minutes walk further down (that's an estimate we normally drive there) is a Del Taco. Bear in mind though that less people will be walking south this way - I don't think it's particularly unsafe, there's lots of hotels down there, but you need to keep your wits about you whereever you travel.

We are trying to figure out a way to accompany the band (driving our own vehicle) on this trip, but we are leaving for Florida 11 days after the Calif. trip ends. Just trying to figure out a way to make the $$ situation work!!! This will be the first time DS has ever been that far away from home without me and I don't know if he (**translation: ME) can handle it!!!!!!!!!!!!
