Were you upgraded and from what to what?

In six cruises, we've been upgraded 5 times. Book early and pay your balance ASAP.

But if you have your heart set on a particular room, go ahead and book it.

2 cruises upgraded once. Booked about 3 months out and called 1 month before cruise and changed to a cat9 guarantee. We were upgraded to a cat 8. We loved the large porthole and booked a SPH for our next cruise.

Does anyone know if paying your balance ASAP matters? This last cruise I paid the balance about 65 days before sail date and we were upgraded. I'm sure there were others who paid it off before me.

I figure *I* would rather keep my money rather than let Disney have it so early. They will get it *eventually,* that's a given, but I keep it as long as possible.

Hmm booked a category 4. They won't mess with your room assignment will they? I got a room right where I wanted it.

Have no dreams of an upgrade, unless they really want to put little ole me in a big suite...now that I don't think anyone would object to Just doubt there is enough pixie dust in the world ..LOL

Two cruises so far and no upgrades. One was a Cat 6 and the other a Cat 5 and thats just what I had. This next cruise I booked an 11, would be nice to have an upgrade but if I dont I dont...It was either book a cat 11 and cruise twice in 12 months or have to wait another year to cruise in a Cat 6 again...I would rather take the yearly cruise even if it has to be in a cat 11.

I wonder how this cabin upgrade works if you booked the land/sea package. Your resort is tied in with what category cabin you booked.


Be interesting to find out if you're upgraded to a deluxe resort.
That's one of the main reasons we are booking cat 6 because we want to stay at the Poly.

Any thoughts?

Does the time of year affect the ability to upgrade at the port? Has anyone ever asked and been told there are no upgrades? What are the usual upgrade prices? Half of what it is before the trip?
We have an 11 and a 8 gty.
