Were you tortured by a sibling as a child?

My sister, 4 years older than me, used to attempt to put me in the sewer every morning while walking me to kindergarten. Also, when I fractured my arm, she told me that they would have to amputate! When we were adults, she admitted that she hated me when we were kids. Now we're the best of friends. How about you?

I don't have any siblings but my cousin who was like my brother did.
He pulled my arm out its socket on purpose when I was little. I can't remember what else he did, but he was mean! :smooth:

I got whomped by my brother every so often on the top of the head. Not too much torturing, :rotfl:

Well duh...

I think it is carved in stone somwhere that older brothers must take and use every and any opportunity to torment their little sisters.

My name is Joe, and I was a sibling torturer.

("Hi, Joe.")

My little sister is 3 years younger than me, and when she was ~5, I convinced her that her favorite stuffed animal was filled with spiders, her eyes were willed with spider eggs, floated another small stuffed animal away on a balloon, told her she was adopted, etc., etc.

She (and our cousin) got me back at a roasting at my wedding.

We get along better now.

I was a tortured sibling.
My parents had 4 older children when the surprise of twins came into their lives (my sister and I).
The 4 older ones weren't too keen on new babies and made us the target of pranks, etc. I got the worst of it because I was the naive one.
I was told my parents only had my twin sister, but took me home from the hospital, too, because I was too ugly to leave behind and no one else wanted me.
I was told I was beaten with the ugly stick.
On and on it goes.
They don't do that to me anymore though.

I am a reformed torturing big sister. I used to hang my little sister out the 2nd floor window by her feet--my mom would kill me if she knew that! And I would put a potato in the garage, wait until it grew long, ugly roots and chase her with it. Aargh!

I was not physically abused by my little brother except for the time when we were older, he placed a piece of bologna in the microwave....causing it to shrink up into the shape of a bowl with the grease puddle inside. After removing it from the microwave, the threw the puddle of grease at me.

He was a pro at lying to get me in trouble when we were little. Mom was a harsh punisher....spankings with a wooden spoon or twig from a tree and them being grounded for at least a week. He knew all he had to do was say he did not have anyone to play with and that I refused to let him play with me and my friends (mom had this stupid rule that if he had nobody to play with he HAD to play with me)...I would be grounded. Funny how he always had someone to play with after I was sent to the house for punishment. Mom never caught on.

When I was 5 I used to be really scared to sleep in my room alone, & my older brother knew it. He used to always hide in my closet at night & make noise to scare me. Then he would crawl under my bed with a halloween mask on, so he could come out and scare me even more. If he wasn't doing that, he was outside my window calling my name in differnt voices. :confused3 Older brothers, who knows what their thinking!

We had a good time picking on our younger brother. We had him convinced he was a test tube baby--this was around the time of the "first" test tube baby. I think there is a rule somewhere that older siblings must pick on younger siblings. DH tells many stories about being picked on by his older brother, but then seems mystified when our oldest picks on the twins, like he has never seen such things in his life.

My brother was the king of torture. He would be in charge of us over summer vacations and it was a living hell. He would make us put on all of our winter clothes and go out and do yard work. It was awful, hot and icky. If you told my mother about any of the stuff he did she would say "If I have to stay home from work because you brats can't behave, you'll be sorry!". He would also make us swim in the pool, then keep us in the middle of it and block around the edges so we couldn't get to a side to rest. Many times I thought I would drown. Torture, he had it down pat. Now he's a cop.

I convinced my younger brother that I could teach him how to fly so he climbed up a tree and started flapping his arms real hard as he left the branch. PLOP! Oops I guess not! :rolleyes1

We laugh now about it and in fact I usually share that story with his Junior High classes whenever I sub in his class!! :teeth:

Yep. I have slight eye damage from my oldest brother (he got mad at his girlfriend, so he used me as a punching bag:rolleyes: ). We still don't get along well, we avoid each other as much as possible.:teeth:

My other brother told me I was adopted once. I don't look like anyone in my family, so he came up with the bright idea I was adopted (my mom insists I'm not though). I was really upset until I got to thinking about gene pool stuff.:teeth: He and I do get along, btw.:p

I was also a sibling torturer. :sad2: I'm sorry to say I was a rotten kid and I think I did damage to my little sister. She's 5 years younger than me. When she was born I had to give away my cat ponzo.( I named her after Fonzie, from Happy Days, but I couldn't pronounce Fonzie, it came out ponzo :confused3 ) Anyway she was born with really bad asthma and we couldn't have any pets. I was heartbroken. I was very jealous and my mom only made it worse. It got worse over the years. Anyway, we still aren't close today. :sad2:

My older siblings tortured us but not in a mean "I really want to kill you" way.

We had a next door neighbor who was grossly obese (over 400 pounds). My brother and sister would pin us down, twist our arms back, and make us say "I love Madeline". Well, that was death, and we would not say it. They twisted higher, until we said it. I learned fast to realize they were just words, and I said them immediately. Another one was a woman we called "ning-nang." She was the worst. No way did we want to say we loved her! LOL

Another thing that one of my brother's would do, is after working all day as a plumber, he would come home FILTHY, and smelly. He would grab one of us, whoever was closest, and get us in a head lock, and stuff our face into his armpit, and hold us there until we ran out of holding our breath.

noogies, hair pulling, and arm punches were a daily part of us "5 babies" lives.

Nope. My DB and I got along fine. I am 5 years younger than him, so I am sure I was the geeky baby sister tagging along, but he was usually pretty patient with me. If anything, I felt like he was my protector!!!

My sister was a whiny kid, but we got along OK. We're great friends as adults. DH's sister was/is mentally ill. She tortured his entire family when she was a chld. Now he has no relationship with the family because of the sister. She's still a nutcase, and her mother still defends her at every opportunity :sad2: To top it all off, because of this we've decided that if we have children at all, we're only having 1 child. Poor DH must have really had it rough :sad2:

My sister 'helped' me go down the stairs faster one day, sending me headfirst into the solid oak front door... (I regained consciousness after mom threw water on me). For 18 years, she insisted that I tripped on a mirror that was left on the stairs... on my wedding day, when we were posing for formal pictures, she turned to me and says, "I pushed you down the stairs".

This is the same sister who used me as a punching bag when she was mad at someone else.

My brother... well- he didn't torture me, but he DID tell me that if I ate a watermelon seed I was going to have a baby. Boy was I careful about not eating watermelon seeds!!!!!!
