Or have you proposed to someone at WDW/DLR? If so, please share your story-where, how, when,.... I love reading about that stuff!! :surfweb: :goodvibes

Include pics if you've got them!

I was!! And now I'm planning my DL wedding! My DF had picked out the ring the month prior to our trip which happened to land on my Bday! He wanted to do it in front of the castle but never felt comfortable. There are so many people milling around you know? So, there we are in Epcot when we realize we have to get his sister back to the hotel so she can make the shuttle to catch her plane.
Well, we are on our way when my Mom texts us and tells us they are heading to MK and to meet them in front of the castle. About 45 minutes later we are on our way to MK and I mention we should call my mom because I doubted she would still be there waiting for us. He told me no, not to worry about it. I thought it was strange and got a little irritated.
Anyhow, we park and I wanted to take the ferry across. I think it's just a bit more magical than the monorail. But- we just missed the ferry so we ran up the stairs (or is it an escalator?) to the monorail. We are walking down Mainstreet and I am looking at the castle to find my family. Now I am assuming everyone is there: My mom, sister, her girl friend, step dad, grandma, aunt, cousin, her husband and son, and my step dad's parents. So, I'm looking for quite a crew.
Anyway- I see my sister up near the walkway into the castle so I start walking up the ramps. She runs away which I didnt' think anything of at the time. I guess I just assumed she didn't see us. Well, then I see my mom hiding behind a wall like she was looking for someone. I mean she looked ridiculous!!!! I told DF look, there's my mom. He says, let's hide from her. I was like Why? So he pulls me to the side where there weren't too many people and says are you ready for your Bday present? (It was at this point three days after my Bday) And I said yes so he hands my the box and I open it up and say what is this? He says, it's an e-ring, will you marry me? And I said really? He said yes and I said really? And he said yes, will you marry me? So I said yes and kissed him! I then go to get my mom, we were literally five feet away from her and she missed the whole thing because she was looking in the opposite direction!!! So she made us do "re-enactment shots" to get a few pics. Turned out it was all planned and the rest of the family was on a ride in Epcot and my Mom came up with some story as to how she could get away.
Here is us re-enacting the proposal:

OOOPS!! I guess I didn't resize that last picture! Sorry!

Aww, what a sweet story! :goodvibes That's so funny that your mom took re-enactment photos!

Apparently the master plan was to propose at MK, but we barely made it off the plane in Tampa and he already had the box out. We actually went to a hockey game in tampa and he popped the question there, he said he couldn't wait a whole day more. lol. He's too cute. But yeah, the plan was MK, but wound up the St. Pete Times Forum Arena in Tampa. :thumbsup2

I was!

Here's my proposal story, I just went and took it from my trip report that I did from our September 2006:

While we were waiting for the Beast to come out, I was fantasizing out loud what one of my dream Disney pictures would be, and that was getting a picture with as many princesses as possible, and I asked Roy if he thought that would be cool. He said he did. And then I was wondering why there wasn't a Photopass photographer at this character location, there usually is. So he said to hold our place in line, but to let people go ahead of us, let the little ones get a chance to see Belle first, and he would check on there being a Photopass photographer coming out. Actually, he was just going over to the CM that was with Aurora, she was there working with both Princesses, but she was with Aurora at the moment, and he told her that he was getting ready to propose to me and was wondering if he could possibly arrange for Aurora to come over for a special picture of me with her, Belle and the Beast since I'm a huge princess fan. She told him, no, that they don't like to have characters from 2 different movies pose together like that. He was a little disappointed, but he was doing this part of the proposal without any advance planning, and as long as he got Belle and The Beast, that's what was important to him, since Beauty and The Beast is my favorite movie. So he comes back over and tells me that there wasn't going to be a Photopass Photographer out. Then a moment later, the CM that he had been talking to came over and tapped him on the shoulder and started to pull him away. I started to follow and she said "Oh, stay there and make sure you save your spot in line over there" and Roy was like "Yeah, make sure you do that". Turns out she called him over to tell him that they normally don't let the characters pose like that, but because this was a special occasion, she was going to let it happen. He came back over and told me that he had arranged a special picture for me with Belle, The Beast and Aurora, but that we needed to stay back for a few minutes for the line to die down and they would bring Aurora over. So, we waited a minute, and then I see Roy's mom walking up towards us, at the same time I see the CM go over to Belle and is filling her in on what is going on. Then they bring Aurora over and I see Belle introduce her to the Beast, which I thought was so cute. Then Roy walked up to the characters with me, he put me right in front of the Beast, with Belle on one side and Aurora on the other side, he was standing right in front of me at that point, and I'm still clueless that he's about to propose. I see him turn around to his mom and Junior, who were both ready to take pictures and he says "Are you ready????" as he was reaching into his pocket, and then as he turns around to me, I see the ring box in his hand and he goes down on one knee. My mouth dropped, and my hand went right up to it and immediately I started crying! There was a crowd watching, the characters were around us, and yet I didn't see any of them, all I saw was Roy, and he said "Trish, will you marry me?" I was truly stunned, I couldn't speak, I couldn't not my head, I couldn't move, nothing! I think I finally managed to nod my head and put my hand out. He put the ring on my finger and he stood up, and we hugged and kissed. It was the most amazing moment!

The princesses were so sweet, ooohing and ahhhhing over the proposal, so excited, and they both hugged Roy, and the Beast shook his hand. I seriously don't remember all that, I was still stunned! Belle thanked us for letting them be a part of our special moment. I didn't know what to say, I started stammering something, and I think I ended up saying thank you to her for being a part of it too. I also think I said I didn't know what to say!

It was the perfect proposal, better than anything I ever dreamed of! It was perfect, it was amazing, it was my fairy tale come true!

After our pictures, they quickly took Aurora away from Belle and the Beast, so that no one else would jump in and get a group shot with them.

After that, we walked off to the side, to where you look over and see the International Gateway at, and I immediately got on the phone and called my mom! She was so excited, she had no idea that Roy was going to propose. He was going to tell her, and he was going to try to arrange for her to come down so she could witness it, but then it just didn't work out (she had to go to Maryland to stay with my niece while my sister was out of town for a few days), and so he just decided to let me surprise her with a call. She talked about calling my sister, and I told her that she better not, that I wanted to tell her myself. So I got off the phone with my mom and called my sister right away to tell her. She was so excited for us, and I immediately told her that I wanted her to be my Matron of Honor and I wanted her daughter to be my flower girl. Of course she said yes. After I got off the phone with her, I called my best friend, who was house sitting for us. I was going to call my brother but he was at work, so I figured I would call him later in the day, as well as calling my friend Darcy, and my friend Monica, and my FSIL Maria later in the day too. Roy called his boss to tell her that he had proposed. She was so cute, she knew he was going to propose, knew what day he was going to do it, and all day long at work, she kept telling people that her lead body man was going to be proposing to his girlfriend that day. She loves him like he was her son, she's a very sweet lady. She was so excited when he called and told her about it. Roy's mom called her sister, who is my favorite of Roy's aunts, she's a huge Disney fan like I am. And poor Junior felt left out and felt like he should be calling someone too, but his brother and sister weren't home from school yet! None of the kids knew he was going to propose on the vacation. Junior only found out 2 days before when we were at Sea World.

Here's a picture that MIL took of me, on the phone with probably my mom or my sister, I'm not sure, and I'm showing off the ring!

I was too!!

We were celebrating my birthday this weekend because next weekend is our anniversary. I decided we should go to Disney and go in all the shops. I didn't really care if we went on rides or anything, I just wanted to browse. We had some errands to run that morning and he said he was going to get us smoothies. He took a really long time! And I noticed that there was a bump in his shorts for his wallet, and a bump in the other pocket... hmmm.... I didn't think the ring was going to be ready this soon (I was with him when he picked it out, so I knew it was coming) We hopped in the car and drove to Disney and started out in the Magic Kingdom. We strolled thru all the shops and I pointed out the medium sized glass slipper that they use at CRT. I noticed that he kept sticking his hands in his pockets and figured that he definitely had the ring with him.
We went into the emporium and I turned around to ask him something and he wasn't there. I usually lose him in shops so I wasnt too concerned and kept shopping. Finally, I called him to find out where he was. He said he just stepped out to take my call... Little did I know that he was across the street buying the mini glass slipper!! (He told me later that he "practiced" losing me in the shops to make sure he could get away)
We went over to the wedding pavilion to peek, there were two rehersals yesterday so we didn't peek around too much, just a little!! He said that he thought about asking me there, but wanted to wait.
We went over to Epcot and had some Mexican and just strolled around. We continued around World Showcase and we got to France, our favorite country, and decided that we'd get some dessert and champagne and sit on the planter.
I got the champagne, he got the dessert and he got down and presented my beautiful sapphire ring in a glass slipper. He told me that he loved me very much and asked me to marry him.
I knew it was coming, and I had been nervous all day, but I was still surprised. I thought he was going to make me wait until fireworks!!

Oh my goodness, you just made me cry!!! What a beautiful story & thank you for sharing those pictures-they were really able to capture you in the moment, huh?

DH proposed to me on the Disney Wonder. I also knew that he had already picked out the ring but I didn't know when he would ask me. We took my DD7 on a 3 day Bahama cruise in July 2003. The day we arrived in Nassau we left her on the ship, in the kids club, and took a tour of the city then headed over to Atlantis. This was the first time that I had ever been in a casino. I got $20 in quarters and after winning $67.50 he made me stop before I lost it all. We had a really nice day together and at dinner that evening at Triton's he had the ring delivered by our waiter. It was sitting on top of a small cake that he had secretly ordered. He got down on one knee and proposed. I was really suprised .

I had seen these on another post last year - the pictures and story are just as beautiful the second time around. How wonderful!!!

I proposed to my DF on her birthday, this past June 15th. Here's the recap, photos, & a link to the video:

RECAP
The night before we left for our trip, I talked over my plan to my bro & sis. My sis agreed to take the ring in her carry-on, and go over to another security line so my then-DGF would have no possibility of seeing anything. Once we got to the hotel, I got the ring from her, and the t-shirt from my luggage, and hid both of them in my bro's room. When my DF went to go do something (at this point, I can't remember) I hid the ring in the safe, and kept the key with me the entire time.

The following morning, 6/15, the nerves started. I was mostly concerned with how I was going to talk to a cast member without DF knowing. So, we left for MK without the ring/t-shirt (since we knew we'd be going back to the room before the night). We got there and went to the Bakery to get some breakfast (and as I'm typing this, I realize the humor in that we ate breakfast at the bakery...more on that later). Afterwards, as we were walking out of the Bakery deciding what we were gonna go do, I told the group I had a stomach-ache I needed to find a restroom. Of course, my DF said the same, so I told my siblings to wait for us in the Emporium. While walking to the restroom (which are conveniently located next to City Hall), I told DF I was feeling really sick, so if she was out before me, to just meet my siblings in the Emporium. She agreed, and walked into the restroom, at which point I ran backwards towards City Hall.

Once inside, I went up to a CM, Patrick (who is a certified SAINT and deserves almost all the credit for the success of my proposal), and told him my plan. I couldn't tell what he was thinking, but a near-by female CM who was listening-in on the conversation started getting all excited. Well, Patrick said he wasn't sure how it could be done, but advised me to get seats early for the parade, then to meet him back at City Hall around 8:00p to discuss further details. While I'm usually someone who panics over little details all the time, I trusted Patrick a lot and agreed, without knowing what would happen. I thanked him for his time, and headed back to meet my group.

The day was nice - we hit-up all 3 mountains, Buzz, and a few other rides by 1:30p, which is when we headed back to the hotel to rest-up for the evening (thank goodness my DF likes to take naps). While we were getting ready to go back out, I snuck the ring and t-shirt into my backpack for the night ahead.

When we got back to the park, my DF & I waited in like to get our bags checked. I jumped outta my line and ahead to another quickly showed them what I had, and he nodded and let me in. A few seconds later my DF came in and we all headed into the park.

At this point I should mention something - it was raining when we got back to the MK. Raining. A lot! But somewhere in me, I knew that it would hold up. When we headed in it was still drizzling, and kept doing so until around 7:45p (when we decided to sit for the parade). So we went to sit, and my bro, sis, & sis's BF went to look at shops, which left DF & I to save our spots. So right at 8:00p, I told DF that I wasn't feeling well again, and that I needed to run to the bathroom. She agreed to watch our spots, and I ran off. About halfway to City Hall, I was struck with panic - I had left my backpack, with the t-shirt & ring WITH MY DF!!! I didn't know how I could run back to get the bag without being suspicious, but was terrified at the idea of her opening the bag to look for something, and finding that. In the end, I decided to have faith a hope she didn't look in the bag (which she didn't). I got to City Hall, and asked for Patrick.

"Patrick's not here right now."

WHAT?!?!?!? Well, where is he?

"I'm not sure, let me see if I can find out."

At this point, I was sure I really WAS gonna be sick! Then another CM came by, I guess saw the look on my face, and asked if they could help me. I asked if they knew where Patrick was and the CM was like "Oh, he's just outside handing out bracelets for Magic Hours. So I booked outside to find him.

I ran up to him, and he was like "yes?" I told him I talked to him earlier and he gave me the deer-in-headlights stare. I mentioned my proposal, and instantly . He immediately handed everything he was doing to two other CMs to help me (again, I cannot stress how helpful Patrick was!). We started walking, and the conversation went like this (Patrick, ME):

Where does she think you are?

Bathroom.

She bought that?

She had no choice - she the only one saving out spots.

Nice. Okay, where are you sitting?

Right in front of the Bakery on Main St.

Good location! What does she look like? What is she wearing?

((At this point I showed him a picture I took of us, so he would know what outfit she had on too))

Great! This makes it easy..okay, now to find another CM who'll be working the parade route.

((He found one, but he wasn't gonna be in the right location))

Okay, well, this is what we'll do. You go back and sit down by her. I'll walk by and see where you're sitting and go find the CM that'll be in your area. I'll let them know what you're looking to do (my original plan) and then I'll give you a sign that we're all set.

Really? That's it? How will I know when it's gonna happen?

You'll know.

Is it gonna be sooner or later?

Around 8:50pm.

Perfect! Thank you SOOO much, Patrick!

((At this point I headed back to my seat))

While sitting there, I watched Patrick and various CMs walk past and gather at different points, chatting and casually looking my way. My DF was oblivious. The only thing she mentioned was that a lot of CMs noticed her birthday pin and wished her a happy birthday. I thought that would work nicely in with my plan (and it did).

Well, after a couple of passes, Patrick and another CM, Al (who was the man-in-charge during the proposal itself) passed by, both giving my the thumbs up - I nodded slightly, and they did as well, and kept walking. Then, another CM went to talk to the PhotoPass photographer that was set-up in-front of us, taking pics of people on Main St. in from of the castle. The photographer nodded, and looked over at me. Shortly after all this, around 8:45p, the fun began.

I looked down Main St. and started noticing about a dozen CMs gathering and chatting in the street. Then, I looked at the photographer, and he was denying people photos, while taking his camera off his tripod. Then he looked over at me, nodded as if it tell me "it's time", which is when I noticed the large group of CMs awkwardly moving our way. Again my DF was oblivious to all of this (which surprised me!). Well, all the sudden Al was standing in front of my DF and screamed "Well, I've heard we have a very special birthday here today. Today is D_______'s birthday! Let's all sing to her. At which point he helped her up, and she gave me a look like "I'm gonna kill you!" (she later admitted that she thought is was happening because all the CMs noticed her pin while she was sitting there, and that I pointed it out to more while she wasn't looking).

Okay, so she's up, and in Main St. being sung the birthday song by 12 CMs and pretty much 1/2 of Main St. The CMs were doing a great job a hamming it up, totally embarrassing her - but she was loving it, and looking around at everyone singing. And when the go to the last "Happy Birthday, to yoooou!" I snuck around the side of her, pulled out the ring, and got down on one knee. As I was standing up, I could hear people starting to gasp and shriek, because I think they knew what was coming. Anyway, I got down on one knee, and she instantly covered her mouth and started shaking. Then I said the five most important words in my life: D_______, will you marry me?!

She immediately started shaking her head yes, as I got up to give her a kiss and a hug. As I backed away to look at her, one of the CMs asked "Did she say yes?!" I told him yes, and they all went nuts, waving their light-sticks and hollarin'. I put the ring on her finger, and then Al surprised us by handing us Mickey top-hat ears & veil ears - something I knew nothing about! So while we were putting those on, a few guys CMs said that had another song to sing, at which point they started belting out "You are so BEAUTIFUL to ME (and him)" It was a really funny moment. Then I gave her the t-shirt and she put it on, we took a few more pics, and thanked all the CMs that sang. After that, we sat down to enjoy the parade.

Okay, so remember how I said I world with someone who's daughter worked at MK? Well, she was actually a character in Spectro (one of the dragonflies). During the parade, she came by, saw us and congratulated us. She also said we should keep our eyes open throughout the parade. What I didn't know was that she told other characters about us, and the would come over to congratulate or gesture to us. It was a great touch!

After the parade, while waiting for fireworks, we started calling our families, who were all thrilled. Surprisingly, neither my DF or I cried during the actual proposal (probably because it happened to quick), but while talking to families & friends, we lost it. We finished our phone calls right before the fireworks started. And everyone was right - it was better to do it all before the fireworks. It was really romantic to be able to watch them together as an engaged couple!

After the fireworks show, we headed back to City Hall to get out extra Magic Hours wristbands and to find Patrick. We did both, and couldn't stop thanking him. He explained that he had proposed just 3 weeks earlier, and knew how important that moment was, and was happy to help. We told him we also lucked-out because we got PhotoPass pics too. He asked us if we had a chance to see them yes, and we said no. So he goes behind the counter in City Hall, pulls out the memo-pad thing, writes a bunch on it and hands it to me. On top of everything that he had already done for me, he was also giving me a coupon for a free 5"x7" pic. I thanked him a million more times, and asked if there was anything at all I could do for him. He shook his head, and said he just liked making magic happen. Again, this man is awesome!

My fiance proposed on July 4th, 2008 at the Magic Kingdom! We had spent all day at Epcot and it was our last full day before heading home to Pennsylvania. He had promised to take me back to the magic kingdom to take advantage of the late park hours, but when we left from Epcot a CM told us that they had reached capacity at the MK and were accepting no more guests. I was crushed because I got to spend the least amount of time at the MK and really was hoping we'd make it back. So, DF went into the guest relations area at Epcot to explain to them why it was so important for him to take me there, but they assured him that it was a fire code rule and there was nothing they could do to get us in there. They instead gave him a bunch of ideas of places to propose at Epcot instead. So, we sat outside of guest relations for about 15 minutes trying to figure out what to do next when two cast members from guest relations came running out to tell us that they've just reopened MK for day guests! We were on our way!!! :)

We rode a bunch of rides and it quickly became park closing time :( DF was leading me around the castle taking all of these pictures of me and I couldnt figure out why. He said he was looking for something that he wanted to show me, but couldn't find. He asked some security gaurds a question (where to find the special place he wanted to take me) and quickly led me to the side of the castle to Cinderella's Wishing Well. He gave me a penny and told me to make a wish. When I turned from making my wish, he had the ring in his hand. Of course I started crying but managed to say yes!

We are now planning our Walt Disney World wedding in the fall of 2009 at the Wedding Chapel with a reception on the Great Movie Ride! More details will come out in my planning journal on that forum (once I have a chance to start one!)

We got engaged on Dec. 16, 2003 behind the castle during MVMCP. DH had the ring in our camcorder bag all day and pretty much kept a death grip on it. When we got behind the castle he ran over to one of the CMs ringing bells underneath the castle and gave him the video camera. I was absolutely confused until he ran over and got down on one knee. The greatest part is that it's on video and that our videographer added it at the beginning of our wedding video.

My DH to be proposed to me at the Wishing Well in January. We are not big on attention, so there was no special cast member involvement or anything, but it was really sweet.

I kept trying to leave the area (he was waiting for someone else to leave) and the poor guy kept panicking and going 'wait, wait, get back here! let's sit longer!' and I just thought he was nuts until he proposed :lovestruc

DH proposed to me at midnight on December 31, 2003 during the Wishes fireworks on Main Street.

We had made the trip on sort of a whim. I was in my last year of college in another city and he had graduated a year before. We hadn't gotten to spend much time together in several months that was actually alone time without other family members around, so we decided to spent the days leading up to New Years at WDW. DH was adament that he was not ready to get engaged and not to suspect it, he did a darn good job convincing me!

Anyway, we spent our last day, New Years Eve, at Magic Kingdom and it was wonderful. I don't remember a whole lot of details from the day itself, except that we had fun and it was crowded. We found our spot on Main Street for the midnight fireworks and we were packed in like sardines, but it was beautiful. They had the snow machines on and Christmasdecorations were still up and the music was still playing. The fireworks started and he turned me to him and said something but I told him that I couldn't understand him, so he started over with his proposal speech. At the time he didn't have the ring out, he said it was so crowded that he was terrified someone would bump him and he would drop it, so I was really confused. At the end of the speech and my actual response was, "Are you serious, because this really isn't funny..." He just laughed and showed me the ring he had been carrying in a little zipper pocket all day long. At that point I lost it, and the rest is history.
