We may go for the the last couple of days in Dec. and the first of Jan. Just wondering if there were any AP rates that time of year this past holiday season?

Yes there were some and they were $18 off value, 40 or 45 off moderate and 75 off deluxe.

There were some AP codes last Dec/Jan BUT you had to check in by 12/25, or after 1/1. :sunny:

Who knows what they'll offer this year though! :confused3

Here's a list of what all the discounts were during those dates last year:

Check in between 10/23/05-12/25/05 package discounts for general public became available on 9/29/05, exp 10/22/05
Check in between 10/24/05-12/25/05 Annual Passholder "Best Rate Program" changed to 60 day advance purchase became available on 8/25/05
Check in between 12/20/05-12/25/05 Annual Passholder "Best Rate Program" became available on 8/6/05

*Best Rate Program is no longer available - you had to book 120 days in advance, then they changed that to 60 days in advance, then dropped that program completely and went back to "regular" AP discounts.

In January of 2006 the AP was:

Check in between 1/1/06-3/8/06 package discounts for general public became available on 11/1/05, exp 12/18/05
Check in beween 1/2/06-2/15/06 Annual Passholder "Best Rate Program" changed to 60 day advance purchase 8/25/05, ended 1/9/06
Check in between 1/2/06-2/15/06 Annual Passholder "Best Rate Program" 8/6/05, ended 1/9/06

In 2004:

Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 8/25/04, exp 12/25/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 "available to anyone" room-only code became available on 8/26/04, exp 10/10/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 package discounts for general public became available on 8/26/04, exp 10/10/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 package discounts for Disney's Visa cardholders became available 8/26/04, exp 10/10/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 Florida resident room-only code became available 8/26/04, exp 12/25/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 "available to anyone" room-only code promoted through McDonald's restaurants became available 9/16/04, exp 10/10/04

We used AP for rooms at Pop from 12/22-12/28 (or around that).....rooms were around 60.00 per night, which was close to 50% off rack I believe since it was Christmas week. Actually a little less per night than the CM discount was for that same time period. Had to make the reservation on-line at that time. Not the case anymore, unless they change it again.

Does anyone remember what the AP rates were for the first week in December, if any?

That would be incorrect, Disney hasn't done a percentage off AP rates since 2004.

The reason it seemed like 50% off is because you checked in during value season. Value season for the values runs up until about the time you checked in and rates last year were 77/night. The rate you check in at is the rate you pay for your entire stay. One of the nice things about checking in during value season :)

It might be "wrong" but I paid 65.80, including tax per night (just checked my receipt). DD is a CM - she stayed next door to me - her rate is definitely 50% (prints right on the receipt) and she paid about 1.00 more per night that we did.
Value season last year ended before we checked in. So whatever you want to go call it, it was an AP rate which I got through the on-line best rate program at the time. Who knows what will happen this year.

I'm not sure why, but the AP Best Rates around Christmas last year were actually value season rates, plus the AP discount.

We stayed in a Contemporary tower room from December 23-26, and got about $270 off per night from the usual rate. Last year, the value season rates ended on December 19, but they stayed in place for the AP Best Rates for check-ins before December 25. Quite a nice Christmas present!

As someone said above, who knows what they will do this year!
