We were able to book the Comtemporary using the VISA code. We are staying from June 4th-June 19th.
We booked the wing room for $159 a night.
We had AAA rates reserved & that for the whole 15 days plus tax was going to cost $3973 :earseek: But with the new Visa code our total price now will be $2659:cool1:

Anyway, I had really wanted the Poly. We stayed there in December & I fell in love with the place! BUT....I just can not justify an extra $80 a night to stay at the Poly. (going by the $239 for the Visa code rates)

This trip is just my son (age 4) & I along with my mother. No hubbies on this trip.
We do have APs but I know even the AP rates will not touch the $159 we have for the Comtemporary, even if the Poly is only $30 or so more a night, I don't know if it is really worth it. We could use that money for other things in the parks!!
My mother says she wants to stay at the Comtemporary.

So.....tell me about the Comtemporary!!!!! How are the wing rooms? Where at the bus stops from the wing rooms (btw--we will be staying in the nonsmoking section of the wing rooms because of serve allegries, not sure which section that is though)
Where is the Food n' Fun Center (think that is what it is called) from the wing rooms?
Also when getting the monorail do we have to go outside?

Lastly, will we like it....OK mainly will I like it, since my mother is all for the Comtemporary & we are sharing the cost of the room.

The only other WDW resorts I stayed in were the CBR (which I hated!!!!! YUCK) and the Poly (which I LOVED!!!!)

We loved it. Stay in the north wing. Ask for a MK view. We could see the fireworks from our room. The north wing is also closer to the bus stop.

How did you get the Visa code? Is it available for any Visa card, or do you have to have the Disney Visa card? Might be a good reason to apply for it!

We stayed at the CR twice and would recommend it. It is the most convenient resort for visiting MK (a short walk to the park entrance in the AM, and a one-stop monorail ride back to the resort in the PM). Also, all the other monorail resorts are within easy reach, so if you like the Polyensian Resort, you can easily spend time there even though you're staying at the CR. The North Wing is closest to the MK.

Besides having the largest standard rooms on Disney property, the Contemporary has an urban, nervous atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in the middle of the acttion. You'll definitely experience the Disney nostalgia many guests, including myself, feel when they walk in: it's one of the original Disney resorts.

The Contemporary also boasts some of the best restaurants in Disney: the California Gril (a must!), Chef Mickey's. There's a marina which offers plenty of water sports, as well as two pools. The monorail hotels are all easily accessible, as is Ft Wilderness/Wilderness Lodge via motor launch.

I think you will like the Contemporary. We stayed there for part of our trip last September (other half of the stay was at CBR and, like you, I wasn't thrilled with it). We really liked the nice, modern look and feel that CR has. It was great to be so close to the MK. We had an 8am PS at Crystal Palace one morning and just walked over there in plenty of time, without having to get up at the crack of dawn. ;) Having the monorail right there was great, also. You don't have to go outside to catch it; it comes right into the building to drop off/pick up and you just take the escalator to get to the appropriate floor. If you can get a MK view room, do it. We had a MK view and it was just beautiful and a lot of fun for our DD4. DD loved the Contemporary.

We had a tower room, so I can't answer most of your questions about the wing rooms. It sounds like you are getting an awsome rate for a wing room, though.

Have a great trip! (You are going at a good time of year by the way-- you arrive on my birthday and DD's birthday is just days after you leave. )

Thank you for every one's replies.
I been doing some searching on the CR, I am starting to get excited on staying there!

Just a quick question, is the walk way to MK easily marked?
