Were finally on our way but its not been a very good start!
Glad we left half hour earlier as were now running 45 mins behind.
So DD10 said see felt sick then DD2 is sick ALL over her and the car seat, not long after written left so now we have another 2 hours in a stinking banana sick smelling car.
We pulled over to clean it out in the pouring rain so now we are soaked and she had her 'spare clothes for the plane' on. Lets hope she keeps them clean as that's all I've got.
Oh and now she's fell asleep! I wanted her awake in hopes she would sleep on the plane. We'll see what happens!
Traffic too has been a nightmare but looks like were out of the worst now.

Will try and post as i go.

Departure mornings can be stressful at the best of times! Sounds like you're competently on top of the situation though :goodvibes

Maybe just leave the kids to sleep in the car. If they are not feeling 100% it may facilitate a better rest on the flight anyway.

You're going to have an awesome time and all the events of this morning will be a faint memory in a few hours pixiedust:

All checked in. Got charged £40 for one bag being over.
Then DD10 got searched at security aswell as our bags.
Virgin wanted £249 pp for upgrades and i asked about lowering the cost and she said they don't believe in selling one person an upgraded seat at a reduced cost when the person next to you could have paid alot

Well that's a bit of an untruth on VA's part ;) I've bought cheap upgrades at the counter in the past. I think the £249 was a reduced price though (?)

Glad you got checked in. It may be worth going online while you are away and pre purchasing an extra bag for the return trip. It will probably cost you around the same as you paid now, but you could at least have the benefit of a full 23kg bag to come home with rather than paying it for a few extra kilos. Did they not give you the option to repack, or was there no space to transfer into other bags?

My daughter was chosen for the random security screening when she was 8, but they were so good with her and it was fine.

Sounds like you could use a drink before you set off, lol. Bars should be open ;)

Have a safe flight. Here's wishing you all (Especially kids!) lots of sleep on the way over pixiedust:

Safe flight now, you know what they say - a bad start leads to a good finish so I'm sure your trip will be fantastic!

Sorry to hear the start of your trip has been so stressful! Leaving day can be hard enough without sick kids, hope they feel better on the plane. Hopefully once you're sat down you can start to relax!

We were also pulled for random security checks once - my DD had a full body pat down at 15 months old, she took it in her stride though (despite looking somewhat confused lol).

Have a great trip.

Oh that's really crappy!
I hope they both feel better soon, I would say its probably excited tummy for the 10 yr old but since the 2yr old was sick too......

I hope the flight is really smooth to make up for all the stress!
Have a great flight.

Hope you've had a smooth flight and are now taking a big relaxing breath of beautiful Florida air.
Both mine get car sick at random times and neither have flown for 4 years so I was slightly twitchy about our recent flight. But my 9 year old had a stugeron and my 7 year old used kids travel bands (from boots) and were thankfully fine.
Have an amazing time :goodvibes

I know you should already be at WDW but keep this in mind if a sickness should occur again. Try getting whomever is sick to eat a York Peppermint Patty. I know the airports here in the states sell them in the candy section at the news stands. The peppermint helps calm the tummy!

Good luck to you and hope the rest of your vacation is great!

BTW they sell York Peppermint Patties in the gift shops at WDW!!!

Thanks guys.
We arrived finally at the beach club 9pm.
it took 3 hours from touch down to check in at the hotel.
i made a **** in sending the cases over to point A at mco when i should have kept them and went to point B where DME is.
never mind we got there in the end.
Didnt like our first room so moved to another and have a great view of Illuminnations from our balcony.

I can't get on Disboards using the ipad for some reason but i Will update on a trip report as and when i can using my phone.
