Just wanted to say thanks for the opinions---we're finally official and have just purchased at our home resort of Hilton Head Island!

We love it there and go nearly annually already so adding the Disney component plus trips back home to Orlando where we have family is a huge bonus.

Our first trip will be this fall at SSR!!

Have you actually stayed at the DVC resort at HH? It's great and I don't have a desire to stay anywhere else on HH. If I want to stay on the beach I would try to convince my wife to go to somewhere like St Augustine (we know a great reasonably priced condo there with ocean view) or rent a house on Edisto. I've also heard about some other great beach rentals in more remote less commercial places. But we don't plan on giving up our annual trek to DVC at HH (and we OWN at OKW). In spite of our massive point use next spring break we have enough built up to go to HH too.

No we haven't stayed at the HH DVC resort----but have stayed at plenty of other places on the island....some good, some bad. Last year's was bad! I have been by the resort there and know the location well--- I'm sure we will love it.

I bought direct from Disney and wanted HH for the 11 month booking window so we can be there every summer Had to go with the 'buy where you want to stay' advice.

My wife would switch OKW to HH, but having the points at WDW is really the only way I can get her down there. I don't know if she just doesn't like WDW or if she doesn't like it just because I do.

BTW, congratulations!! Remember certain times of year you have to book early there. I always book right at 7 months.
