WE're never allowed to take the truck to DL again!

Just out of curiosity, why would you take a F350 to DLR knowing you will have to park in one of the garages. I have Super Duty and that would be the last vehicle I would think of.
Best of luck with the insurance.

Because the last three times they took the F350, they were directed to park in the oversized vehicle area, but this time they were directed to park upstairs in the garage.....and perhaps this is key in regard to where the Disney parking attendant was at fault - by directing a big F350 truck to park upstairs in the standard vehicle parking area rather than the oversized vehicle area.

But if you feel your car is too big to park somewhere, why not say to the attendant, "Our truck is really big. Can we park in the over-sized vehicle area, please?"

Having been in the garage, and with a large vehicle, I the driver would have a clue that that vehicle is not going to fit in that spot. Might as well take a motor home into that garage. It will be interesting to see a follow up post as to what the resolve is.
To me it is kinda like jumping off a bridge if someone tells me to do it! As I said before, good luck with the insurance.

I agree with both statements. I was just restating what the OP said. The only thing is.....is that sometimes people just do what they are told to do. It's not quite the same as being told to jump off a bridge (life and death type situation). It's more like people have become accustomed to being told what to do and how to do it, and they feel as if they can't really question it, so they do it without question. We've kind of become a society like that in a way, if you know what I mean. It's a hard lesson to learn for the OP's hubby, but I'm sure from now on, they will ALWAYS ask to park in the oversized parking area.

And also, it's possible that if they had never parked their truck upstairs in the parking garage, how would they know if their truck was too big to maneuver into a parking spot? They would have no way of actually knowing, and in that case, a driver must rely on the knowledge of the parking attendants, who are trained to KNOW.....if you know what I mean. I know that parking garages around here have oversized vehicle parking in them for long trucks, but obviously not all parking garages have this. I'm not excusing the driver's fault in the situation, but I can understand how it happened and how he was sort of "lead" into it unknowingly.
