We're Moving to Florida!!!!

I have accepted a new job with a company in Tallahassee and we're making the move out east. My wife and I were born and raised in the Salt Lake City area and we have family and friends that we are going to miss. We are coping with the move by remembering that we will be only 4 hours from Disney World and we can now make it to the Podcast parties!!!!

Due to COBRA and insurance issues my wife and kids will be staying behind for 90 days until my new insurance kicks in. Ohh...BTW, my wife is due with our first biological baby on August 2nd (see this post for details http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2364804).

We are very excited and nervous at the same time.

I once moved to Florida from the Midwest (Chicago) and absolutely loved living there -- it was very different, but I enjoyed the differences. You are going to have a great time experiencing new things. Enjoy it and especially the proximity to Disney!

Welcome to Tallahassee. You'll love it here. It's a sleepy southern town. Everyone here is really warm and friendly. But actually it's a 5 hour drive to Orlando. You have to go over and down the state. It's really not that bad. Florida just a really big state.

I moved here from South Florida and have never regreted it. We have three colleges in town and there is always something to do. Christmas is great here. It looks very "It's a Wonderful Life." downtown. Springtime Tallahassee is great.
