We're just bringing clothes and make-up, everything else will be purchased at Walmart.

So, I would definitely recommend bringing some food with you - 7 hours is a pretty long trip and if you factor in delays, it will likely be many hours before you might be able to eat a full meal.

Have fun!!! We want to go back so badly now!!!
This afternoon, we're going to pack some food and put it in our backpack. I'm going to make a lot of sandwiches. :D Thanks!

If you will have a car then Walmart is close and easy to get to. Even closer is Publix (supermarket).

The last 3 trips we have taken have all been with carry-ons only. DH, DD and I have a 21" rolling suitcases and a backpack each. We did 10 days at WDW (did laundry once on our pool day), an 8 day cruise with 2 extra days in FL and 7 days in San Diego. We had plenty of room for toiletries - except for the cruise, we bought sunblock in Miami - and snacks. On the way back we had room for souvenirs. I get travel size stuff and free samples (have so many shampoo samples!), even have a stash of sample size detergent. Also, everywhere we have stayed at has had shampoo and conditioner.

Next trip we will have one suitcase and that is only because the airline we are using this time charges for carry-ons :crazy2:

I think the one thing I overpack is snacks. I am always afraid we will get stuck on the runway (happened once for 2 hours!). But I make sure that at least DD has a full meal (pb&j, banana, carrot sticks and a sweet) just in case. DH and I have a selection of sacks - I can never make my mind up on what I might want :rolleyes1

I personally wouldn't want to use any of my valuable vacation time buying shampoo.

Agreed! Even if we are on a long trip I don't want to waste time buying some I could have already done. Vacation is for fun, not for shopping for necessities... But that's just us.

I would say that yous should bring anything you need that is a specialty item that is hard to find, because Wally World probably won't carry it -- Body Glide comes to mind, because WM's in Orlando don't. Otherwise, yeah, sure.

Only one thing: please bring something to put it all in so that you don't show up at your hotel with nothing but piles and piles of WM bags. We were behind a guy once at the Swan who had done that, and it was obvious that the desk clerk thought that he might be a credit risk.

Do pack a meal, though, perhaps even two for that much travel time. Remember that if you like your condiments on the side until you are ready to eat, you'll need to carry them in your 3-1-1 baggie; same with things like yogurt that are gels. At very least bring some hearty packaged snacks that will ward off hunger if you get stuck on a runway.
