Were is thread about availability of sold out resort points

I know there used to be a thread of people waiting for or immedialty getting points from sold out resorts, direct from Disney. Does anyone know if it is still around or were it is?

i thought it dropped off since DVC was picking up plenty of "sold-out" resort contracts in foreclosure in the great recession.

pretty sure BCV add-on requests are the only ones with any risk of a wait...

I was wondering, as i wanted some OKW point's and was told by DVC they didn't have any! Which i didn't understand as, DVC news was showing a $11 incentive. Why have an incentive if there are no points available. I was also considering WLV's, but didn't ask about those.

Did they say all UY's are unavailable? Or were you asking for a specific UY? The reason I ask is there was some discussion a couple of weeks ago about them being out of some UYs.

I called today to add on OKW June use year points. My guide said there were none available, but they have a wait list. She said no guarantee when/if they would be available.

Just got put on a wait list for Oct UY. My guide said that disney looks at points from the resale market that fit the UY waitlists but doesn't like to ROFR contracts that are void of current UY points. They don't like to buy back stripped contracts as they can't provide the new purchasers the current UY points.

That makes perfect sense, and probably why they need to waitlist people.

When I took the DVC tour in late January, they offered VWL points at $102. It was still available mid to late Feb as well.
