We decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Disney World this past weekend. It is wonderful to live so close and be able to do that.

We stayed at Poynesian concierge for the second time. It was terrific. For the past 25 years I have stayed at the CR and it has always been my favorite. I have to say though, that the Poynesian is my new favorite. My 20 month old son had a ball. The resort is perfect for children. He loved the water squirters and we all loved the pool and that cool slide.

The concierge staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was great and the view... of course it was amazing. We were in a LV room. I love waking up during the night and watching the castle change colors. I also love listening to the train in the MK from our room. I personaly love the smell of the resort. It smells so tropical. Our room was on the third floor. I have been on the first before but prefer the view of the castle better from the third. You see it good on both floors but I just like it better from the third.

I felt so comfortable and relaxed at the Polynesian. I really felt like I was at home. We changed our trip in August from the CR 14th floor to Polynesian concierge as soon as we got settled. I still like the CR and will probably visit it again but for the most part, I'll be at the Polynesian.

Another Polynesian convert. . .we'd better be careful about touting the resort too much--there won't be any room for those of us who are longtime fans! :D

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and I 2nd and 3rd all of your glowing comments--the end of the week can't be here soon enough for me--I've been packed since Friday (6/7/02). ;)

Tess,

I hope you have a wonderful trip. You sound like me with the packing thing. I get so excited a few days before our trips that most people think I'm going crazy. Enjoy the Polynesian for me.

Sounds wonderful!! During your stay, did the food in the concierge change daily? I am just wondering as I have heard from several people that the food/snacks are the same everyday...

Thanks

My family is trying to decide whether to stay at the Poly or at BC. So many decisions and only 1 year to plan!!!!

Minnie my my--Sounds like you had a fabulous time!! What room # did you have on the 3rd fl with that wonderful view? Did you even smell a hint of smoke on that floor? We are taking the plunge for LV concierge in Sept for the first time with our almost 5 year old twins, and any inkling of smoke will eliminate the 3rd fl for us.

Beanie,

The nightly items did change daily. Friday night we had lots of wonderful fruit, spring rolls, cheeses, tuna salad sandwiches, vegies and dip. Saturday night we had ceaser salad with wonderful chicken that I think was grilled on the side, veggies, fruit, cheeses, and pb&j sandwiches. I'm not sure what was out during lunch because we weren't there during that time.

Barringer75,
We were in 3509. I did smell smoke in the hall but none in the room. I have been in another 3rd floor room where there was traces of smoke from the last people there.

I was at Poly concierge in August and I LOVED it. I chose it because they say it is the most "kid friendly" concierge. It was fabulous. The coffee was excellent. It wasn't that instant stuff you get elsewhere.

We are Poly lovers, the only place we will stay. We have, however, in the past 10 years only stayed lagoon view. We loved it so much... I was SO scared to give up that view! We finally took the plunge a couple of months ago and did the Poly conc./lagoon view. Oh my, I did not know what I was missing! It was fabulous! The food was incredible...way beyond what I had expected. The selection in the evening changed nightly, YUM!! We didn't make it each night, as we had other plans, but we did usually peek in to see and it looked divine. Lets see...I remember...WINE, Chicken salad, tuna salad (delish), GREAT veggie spring rolls, chicken wings, pork dumplings, lo mein, meatballs, lasagna, many diff. pasta salads, garden salads, grilled chicken over pasta...so many great things it's hard to remember them all. I have it written down somewhere, if anyone's interested I might be able to find it! They always (each night) had a selection of cheese and crackers as well. At the kids station, there was always a sandwich selection (tuna, turkey, ham, pbj) along with chocolate dipped strawberries, candy and brownies or something of that sort. The PBJ sandwiches were the Uncrustables - the individually wrapped sandwiches which could also be taken back to your room and fridged for another time. We were lucky enough to be there for 10 nights so we did get to sample it often and I was very impressed. The breakfast was, for the most part, the same every day - but it was wonderful. Bagels, croissants, donuts, sweetbreads, fruit, oatmeal, pastries, muffins, cereal, toast...w/accompaniments for everything. Tea, cocoa, juices, coffee, water bottles, soda cans...can't ask for much else, imho. We stopped in a couple of time to replenish our water bottles during the afternoon and that was the same everyday. Cookies, candies, juices, fruit, water and sodas. We loved the nighttime service. They had many different cordials; we did partake in this almost nightly! Yummy desserts and pastries rounded out the service. ANYTHING you wanted was yours for the asking. We loved it! Enjoy!
