Tomorrow will be our first time at the AG Store in NYC. My girls just got interested in the AG dolls this year and Santa was very good to both the girls and the pocketbooks of American Girl!

We have lunch scheduled, and then we're going to get Molly's hair done and have the magazine cover picture taken of the girls and then of course shopping.

We were supposed to go with a friend of mine and her two girls, but two days ago she fell and broke her ankle. DH and ds are coming to lunc with us but then they'll be leaving to go to the World of Disney Store. Ds isn't too happy about this but I realy didn't want to go to NYC alone and DH wanted to see the girls and the store.

Of course today would be the day that all the trains stopped running so wish me luck that everything will be fixed by tomorrow morning.

Oh you lucky girl you!!!Have a great time! Perhaps a trip to the Toysrus would be more fun for your son. They have that indoor ferris wheel that is FUN! That might make sitting through that girly girly lunch livable. Oh the restaurant is soooo cute. Hey we would have gone with you! :cheer2: So no school for you tomorrow? My kids are counting the days until the end of the year and surprise surprise the school moved it up a day!!!
I have to get to American Girl soon. Maybe a end of year treat for DD. It has been a hard year for her and she has done great.
So do they take reservations for hair yet? or is it still just walk up. We always get stuck going on weekends and that place is a mob scene. So cute they have little conversation starters on the table so be prepared to "share"
Have fun! And hold onto your wallet.

No reservations for the hair so we're just going to have to wait in line. No school for us tomorrow (pastor's holiday to make a long weekend). This is the girls' end of school treat too so I believe my wallet is going to take a beating! Thanks for the idea of Toys R Us for ds, I know he'll get a kick of that ferris wheel. Pinocchio, Gepetto and Jimminy Cricket are at WOD so I told DH to get ds's picture done. Definitely going to be an expensive day. Of course ds needs a end of kindergarten treat too!

Hey we should definitely meet up at the AG store for lunch one day. We're just a train ride away (God willing)!

Good luck tomorrow and hope you have a great time!
I love going to AG Place with my DD.
I think sometimes I enjoy it even more than she does!

If your DS is into video games, there is a Nintendo World store less than a block away from the AG store. Last time my DD's and I were in the AG store my DS and DH spent the whole time in Nintendo heaven. Check out their website http://www.nintendoworldstore.com/

Have fun!

My DD"s and I went last year. We had a great time. My wallet felt it.

We had lunch in the store w/their newly purchased dolls. We live an hr from the mouse and like to do buffets. In Disney they give you so much food,
at the AG store they feed you like your the size of one of the dolls. It was more money at AG store too. :confused3 We did enjoy the experience.
But will do a show next time around.
You should take a picture of your DD in front of the store w/ all her AG bags(they will give you one for each purchase). It makes a great Souveneir.

Enjoy your time w/ your DD. Good luck w/ the commute.

Hi all,

Well we're back. We had a great time! I thought DH and ds would have to eat with us since we originally had a reservation for 5 (before my friend broke her ankle) but they were very good about it and DH and ds were glad to get out of there!

The best thing happened to them. They were at the WOD store at it opening and they got picked to be the family that welcomes Pinocchio and Gepetto! They got a free picture and golden 50th Anniversary ears and they made an announcent and DH said it was really cool. Then they went to the Toys R Us (thank you Java) and rode the ferris wheel. Ds was happy to get High School Musical and some treats from Goofy's candy company.

THe girls had a ball. The lunch was so nice and really special. (It should be at $22 per person!) I had their picture on the magazine cover taken. (That wasn't too bad I had the package plus two key chains made and it was about $50). They had their dolls' hair styled ($20 each) and bought lots of souveniers. DD (7) picked coconut, a t-shirt, 2 books, new socks and shoes for her bitty baby and an outfit for Molly. DD(8) picked coconut, licorice, a AG t-shirt and two books.

THanks goodness the trains were running fine. Well that was a great day, although my wallet certainly feels lighter. We're already planning another trip back to do the theatre before the end of summer. THanks for all the great advice.

Glad you had a great time! Thanks for posting!!
We love that store and we are dying to see the show. We have never done the lunch because we are really picky eaters and I'm not sure we would like anything. How was the food and what did you get?
When you head to NYC again there is also a huge Build a Bear store and Friends 2 B made store. DD loves them both too!
That was so cool and lucky of your DH and DS to get picked!!

The food was surprisingly good. They start you off with warm cinnamon buns, then there is an appetizer plate - chicken salad in little puff pastry, pretzel bread with honey mustard dip, grapes, cheese, carrots and celery with ranch dip, I had an asparagus quiche and the girls had bitty cheeseburgers and chicken tenders. The cheeseburgers came with curly fries and fruit cup and the chicken tenders came with macaroni and cheese and a fruit cabob. My quiche came with salad. The dessert was too cute - mini chocolate mousse flower pots, mini heart cake and a butteryfly sugar cookie. Our drink was - of course - pink lemonade!
