Just booked for Christmas - 23rd to 26th December - Easyjet flights from Liverpool and Santa Fe hotel for 3 nights. I know there will be parades but will there be other Christmassy things going on - anyone been before at this time?

Great news. Have a look at the trip reports for as Elaine (Wear Bears) has been at Christmas.

How wonderful!:santa: We had a fantastic time at Christmas, have a look at my trippies and if there's anything you want to know, just ask! :goodvibes

Spent quite a bit of time tonight looking at all your photos, Elaine - looks fabulous. I'm looking forward to the different shows and parades, especially. I am definitely going to book the Christmas lunch - it is more expensive than usual on Christmas Day and how soon can you book? Also going to book Cafe Mickey and probably Walt's (both of these we have been to before and loved)

Also is Fantillusion the fireworks or a night parade and was this on every night you were there?

Could you also tell me at what time the parkls closed?

Thanks - I probably have a million questions but that's all I can think of for now.

Here are the prices for this year - new out on the DLP Foodguide. No menus yet apparently, and it doesn't say when you can book from. :confused3

Call 0033 1 60 30 40 50 for dinner reservations. Open from 9 till 22.00 hours.

We ate at the Lucky Nugget on Christmas Day. Although they dressed the restaurant with Christmas decorations and crackers and offered Christmas cocktails it was the usual buffet at the usual price of 30 euros for adults and 15 euros for children.

We booked on the number Sjaakie gave ~ 0033 1 60 30 40 50. Because the Lucky Nugget wasn't doing a special Christmas meal we could only book it like usual DLRP meals, no earlier than 60 days in advance. But if you want to book one of the more expensive Christmas meals and have booked your hotel with Disney I should think you could have it added on to your booking now.
Also is Fantillusion the fireworks or a night parade and was this on every night you were there?
Fantillusion is the night time parade and it was on every night after the tree-lighting ceremony (so beautiful  ) Unfortunately there are only fireworks on New Year's Eve.

Disneyland park at 8pm, the Studios at 6pm.

Thanks Elaine - wondered when the menus for the Christmas meals in the hotels become available.? Also, I wondered if the Lucky Nugget has a good selection of child friendly food on the buffet - DD will only eat really plain food - plain chicken, cheese and tomato pizza, hotdogs, burgers (sorry Jamie Oliver) - definitely no spicy food.

Also on the Ultimate DLP Food Guide site, it mentions Christmas lunch at the hotels - does anyone know if this is only available at the hotel your're staying at (lunch at the Santa Fe foodcourt doesn't seem so appealing, but if you can go to another hotel, it does).

There was a carvery style roast turkey on Christmas Day, I remember a chef was carving it. The buffet is Tex-Mex so although you tend to think it is spicy, apart from the dishes like chili etc most of it is plain and you just add the spicy sauces/dressings etc. One of my DDs only likes plain food and she manages very well there! Thinking off the top of my head the plain things are usually fresh salmon, ham, pizza, chicken nugget style things, pasta, rice, boiled potatoes, chips :teeth: broccoli, green beans, lots of different salads and bread rolls. And if your DD doesn't like much of the above she can always fill up on the lovely desserts they serve there! :goodvibes

I *think* the hotel meals are only restricted to the guests staying in them on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

This sounds good - I think we'll book the Lucky Nugget for sure - another reason is we don't want to interrupt our Christmas Day in the park by walking back to the hotel for lunch. Now we only need to decide on other days - tough decisions - Walts, Chef Mickey's (tried and loved) or somewhere new - Blue Lagoon , Auberge de Cendrillon or Annettes Diner :rolleyes1 so little time.

I wonder if Lucky Nugget is a really popular choice for Christmas Day as we are away on a short break when my 60 day window opens (when I can book). My daughter won a talent contest in Devon and we are going back for the finals. If I need to, I suppose I can call on my mobile - but it might be expensive.

BTW Elaine, which resort are you staying at in Florida?

Although the Lucky Nugget was full, I wouldn't worry about booking it until you have come home from your weekend away. I know I didn't book right on the 60 day mark ~ I think it was more like the first week on November ~ I am sure a few days won't make any difference. :) Good luck to your DD! :thumbsup2 :wizard:

Unfortunately we aren't staying at a Disney resort in WDW  we are staying at Comfort Suites Maingate East in Kissimmee and have booked a few days at the Grand Plaza at St Pete.
