Tomorrow will be 5 days until we check in at DLH. I've heard that it's best to wait until 5 days out to make room requests. We booked through a 3rd party, so we did not make requests when we booked. I have a couple questions, I'm hoping some pros can answer.

I fully understand that requests are not guaranteed.

We are a family of 5, so will we be given a room with a day bed/fold out chair? Or do I need to request that?

We booked a premium view room. I would really love a view of DTD/parks. Having booked the premium view, do we really need to worry about our view being a parking lot? I can't say I'd be very amused paying that much money to look at a parking lot when in our room.

Any other helpful hints about DLH that any one can give, will be muchly appreciated! TIA.

I think with a family of 5 they have to give you a room with the daybed, otherwise you would not all fit. I would call the hotel directly to double check and put in your requests anyway. It doesn't hurt and they are so nice about everything over the phone.
I don't really have too many tips, other than don't forget to pack your swimsuits like we did this past November! I guess I wasn't thinking it would be warm enough, but even if temps are in the mid-70s it will be warm enough swim, and the DLH pools are amazing so definitely take some time to enjoy those if you can.
Tangaroa Terrace, which is right there by the pools, is a good quick service restaurant. And, don't forget to check out Trader Sam's!
You will have a GREAT time!!
